According to the ever reliable Kelly-Rowland.net, Grammy Award winning singer Kelly Rowland is wrapping up her as yet untitled Universal Motown debut; yet before doing so, the 28 year old has logged in studio-time with hit-maker Danja!
For those unfamiliar, Danja boasts an impressive production discography, which includes Britney’s ‘Gimme More’, Madonna’s ‘4 Minutes’, Mariah’s ‘Migrate’, Keri Hilson’s ‘Knock You Down’, and Whitney’s ‘For The Lovers’. It pretty much goes without saying that he’s as A-List as a producer will come.

It really does seem both Kelly and her new label are going all out to ensure that this project is top-notch, and top-notch it’s appearing to be. With the industry buzzing and the production list looking ever-the-more promising, Kelly (at least on paper) seems to be on to a winner.Collaborating with Danja, more specifically, is something that has been in the works for the better part of two years, and is something Kelly discussed with That Grape Juice way back in 2008. So to see it finally materialising is awesome.
Word has it, Ms. Kelly’s LP will be hitting shelves around May times. We can not wait!
Randomness: Danja also had production credits on Danity Kane’s ‘Welcome To The Dollhouse’ (‘Pretty Boy’, ‘Striptease’, ‘Bad Girl’), which is conceptually what I’m envisioning Kelly’s project to be like (an Urban/Pop/Dance) fusion). If anything on that wavelength, we’re in for a treat!

I think her album will see the way Keri Hilson’s did, and all the people tired of Beyonce may buy her record just because. I hope she gets a lot of success with this next LP! I am hoping Michelle will get the success she deserves when she drops her next album. =)

@ jammy i think people bought Keri Hilsons album because of her single choices, she had great singles put out…pple weren,t checking for her earlier but the consistency of good singles made pple buy her album, i think kelly will need to put out great singles, and the promo has to be 100% pple are curious as to what she will bring to the table and if she delivers they will support her. i,ll support her regardless cos i,m a fan and she is yet to dissapoint me.

wow at all the talent thats wrapped up in this project – there is no way ms kelly can fail – she needs 5 successful singles from the album. a world tour starting with europe and the uk first and def austrailia to stack the chips up and then come over to the midsise areans and awared shows and the the house of blues – get shyt really poppin and major MAJOR PROMO – she needs to be shoved down our throats!!! with a set plan and set singles with no push backs or anything like that she should be fine – after this album she should be ready for a rerelease or evn a second album the next year followed by another tour to make sure that she soldfys her spot and win more awards on her own merit!!! lol ms kelly better work!!!

I agree that she is really going hard with the Production List, I hope that her New Label it better suited to pick SIngles that reach a Wide Audience. I think with Each Album she has been gradually improving as an Artist but also with Each Album I think the Best Potential Radio Friendly Singles were not picked and that’s what needs to happen this time around.
Also if she wants to Actually Achieve this Full Blown International Pop Status that “Sam and Trent” try to force on us readers then she needs to Step it Up with being Consistent in live vocal showing, do a lot of U.S. Promotion and Interviews and do a Major Promo Tour otherwise this album will be another one with a Long Shelf life and at this point with Beyonce bringing World Records Daily this is Make or Break for Kel’s to etch out her own Solo Spot in the industry!
Wishing Kelly success, but when are they going to promote or release songs from the album, I mean its Feb now. Thats what hurt a lot of singers, no publicity on the album and for those who don’t read gossip sites, they wouldn’t even know that Kelly actually has an album coming out. Hope she does well, don’t understand why others like to see people fail.

I can’t speak for anybody else,but for me,Kelly Rowlands album is the album that I am most anticipating for the year 2010. It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about an album. I can’t wait for the singles. I can’t wait for the videos. I can’t wait for the live performances. I’m just excited about what Kelly will be serving up this time around. I love the fact that she’s been working on this album since early 2009 and NOTHING has leaked. She’s wrapping the album as we speak and there’s still such mystery surrounding it. I for one think that’s great. I know how big Kelly is on surprising people and I think were all in for a BIG surprise.
I think EVERYONE is going to be in for a big surprise with this album. She has assembled an ARMY of producers to ensure that she has at least 2 hits off that damn album. I’m glad for her. Its about time she gets some credit. She contributed alot to DC and alot of her work goes unnoticed. Its a shame. She’s a damn good singer and certainly not any worse than any of the clowns out today. I don’t think she has anything to prove necessarily because she just had a worldwide hit. Not many people have one in their entire music catalog. My biggest fear though is that people are jacking that sound right now. Everyone wants to do something Electro. But I’m sure Guetta left her some sick tracks. She is the reason why he is so famous right now like it or not. “When Love Takes Over” was his first mega hit and then “I got a Feeling.”
With her signing to Universal Mowtown she is supposed to front the label. I’m sure alot of money will be pumped into her. And its about time. Matty Knowles barely pumped a dollar into the poor girl. She did what would happen to any artist with promotion so poorly like that and that is flop. She seems to be really focused now though. I notice she has been spotted at many parties and events lately. Its good for her to get her face out there. She seems like a really nice girl and I wish her all the success.
