Everyone knows that Rated R is epic, her best album ever and the reviews, people that are specialized in music, the important ones rated it 4/5, it is much better then Good Girl Gone Bad and it is much better then all of the bubble gum pop albums her fellows make, it isnt everything about the numbers, no1 can be judged by the numbers so I dont know why you argue if she is flopping or not.
You can see that she is improving in all aspects, she is 21, she has got alot to learn but you just keep your eyes closed because when you dont want to see what is happening, you dont see it, and what is happening here is someone growing as an artist and making her name in the business, I feel sorry for you that get annoyed when someone is growing artisticaly and is really working to improve her skills.

This “behind the scenes” just proved what a toy Rihanna is! She is just being played and moved around by everyone. Usually in behind the scenes footage, the TRUE artists tells us, the viewers, what they vison of THEIR video is, and what they planned to bring across. Why they are wearing the particular costumes for particular scenes and colors schemes they use, etc. We just see Rihanna walking where she’s told to walk and doing what she is told to do. She has no vision and aim of her own and that’s sad because she is FAR past her first album and should by now have direction over her career. This showed me nothing new about Riri or even showed me she’s savvy when it comes to the music business because obviously she isn’t. And then she had her own hype team *her friends* hyping her moves! @HI HI its obvious that some of these people don’t realize how the industry works. They just randomly pop off at the mouth, not knowing that this is how video shoots, or magazine shoots go. Although you are the star or artist, you still have to follow certain protocals, because you are not the one directing the shoots. You have to follow the directors direction, and the poses and stuff posted up, are reference points that the artist has to follow in order to do the video or shoot. You all claim to be experts on here, but your comments clearly show you don’t know what you are talking about. Go behind the scenes of any video shoot, or production, and you would see so many things posted up it’ll make your head spin. Even actors and actress have cue cards, and reference points they have to work with, but no one ever accused them of not knowing what they are doing and being fake. I guess the rules always changes when it comes to rihanna. SMH.

first of all, i never directly addressed you or anyone in particular so taking offense to what i wrote obviously means it resonates with you.
secondly, it does show that the person has an interest in the artist. if you don’t like the artist, you can simply skip the post and move on to the next one. But you consciously chose to provide your input. There’s nothing wrong with that and i never said there was, but don’t deny that you don’t take delight in seeing a post about Rihanna or have interest in her since you feel compelled to write about her.
thirdly, i find it interesting that anything positive about rihanna’s album is written off as nothing. if she’s goes platinum in a country like Ireland, 20,000 albums sold is a lot in relation to the size of the country, but nope, that doesn’t count. oh ok so haters is 90s jargon but stans is applicable today..right. madonna came out with her album “Bedtime Stories” in the early 1990s, after she dominated the music scene for the better part of the 1980s. There was no artist bigger than Madonna at the time, but she decided that rather than release a pop record, which the public would have eaten up, she created an album that was more introspective and deep than commercial. It was controversial and conceptually/musically different from anything she had ever done. It never got to number one and didn’t sell well, but it stayed true to the message that the artist wanted to convey. Rihanna did the same thing. No song (except for Rude Boy) is really commercial on her album and the music is very different from Good Girl Gone Bad. I have no doubt that if Rihanna had come out with a pop-friendly album with a lead single that was similar to Umbrella, the song would have probably went to number 1 and her album probably would’ve went to #2 (there’s no denying she would never have been able to overtake Susan boyle). But she didn’t and thus, if sales don’t reach the level that GGGB reached, but still are high enough only 3 months into the albums release to go platinum, than i find it hard to believe that people would call it a failure.

She has never had a number 1 album in the US, but she is still a force, one of the most recognized stars out of the Western Hemisphere, so who cares about the US. She has already garnered #1 albums all across the globe. I doubt def jam is disappointed in rihanna, because she is still making tons of money for them. She is definitely still one of their most bankable stars. So why should it bother you haters, you are not def jam, and its not your money their spending, so if they want to promote rihanna till die kingdom come let them.
