New Song: Ludacris – ‘How Low Can You Go (Remix) (ft. Ciara & Pitbull)’

As Ludacris readies the release of his new LP ‘Battle of the Sexes’ (due March 9th), a new Ciara-assisted remix for his latest single ‘How Low Can You Go’ has surfaced. Set to feature on Luda’s album, the remix goes hard! Ciara turns in a hotter than hot verse m- profanity and all (Ms. Harris excels on up-tempo cuts in this vein), which makes for the already decent track to be that much better. Good stuff.

Randomness: Am I the only one feeling when Ciara hops on tracks like this as well as the poppier cuts? I ask as I consistently hear folk slamming her for ditching her ‘roots’. Yet the last time I checked Crunk was dead. As the success of many before have shown, there is nothing wrong with keeping elements of what folk know you for (which she has), yet crossing over at the same time. I mean do people really think Beyonce, for example, would be ‘Beyonce – the megastar’ if she carried on singing a certain brand of R&B ala ‘Bills Bills Bills’ and ‘Say My Name’. Artistic growth is all about trying new things and expanding your reach….right?

That’s completely right. The thing is, with Ciara, I feel is that she just doesn’t have the type of voice that can make -any- song sound good. I’m not saying she can’t sing, because she can, but I mean certain songs have to be tailored for her instead of just shopped around and winding up in ciara’s lap and expecting her to excel with it. That, and some of her lyrics just reek of The Dream i.e “Hot like a mcdonalds hamburger bun” in “High Price”. Other than that, she absolutely has the talent and the ability to branch out. I’d like to see her try some new choreography styles or maybe take dance classes from professionals; I want to see this girl do liquid dancing or popping.

Also, her last album had some nice cuts. I still listen to “Tell me What your Name is” and “Keep Dancing On Me” from time to time.

OMG FIRST!! YES! AND HELL YES CRUNK&B IS WAYYY DEAD!! WHO even made that ugly “GENRE” term, YUCK! Ciara has always been an uptempo girl and has consistently shown that is her strong point, haters need to eat a bowl of s***. Love Ciara, love this song. I hope this will give her a platform to jump start her project as well, tired of EVERYONE OUT RIGHT NOW…need some Ciara…Cassie…JoJo…C Breezy…more UPTEMPO PLEASE JESUS!

    thank you.

This was great! Ciara does such a good job and he voice rides the beat sooooo well! I think she’s one of the most underrated artists with actual talent out right now. But I do think she’s coming strong in 2010

  8. Qc February 2, 2010

Omg the queen killed it!!!! I luv this girl sooo much! I can’t wait for her to come and take 2010 by storm! 🙂

  9. Sylvia February 2, 2010

I agree with you. Its like if Ciara does a pop record, she’s hollywood. People act like your going to be the exact same at 24 that you was at 18 and that’s unrealistic in my view. Every major artist does an album where they pertain atleast some to pop. Look at even rappers like Luda/Nelly. They were huge in the 00’s because they were rapping pop records. Dilemma was not hard, over and over again had a country singer on it. I mean give the girl a break.

  13. GetitIn February 2, 2010

This is hotter than hot and killing it to yall?

Her verse was weak, and I normally like Ciara. But this wasn’t anything special at all. Please come harder, Ci.

Yes Sam, I like Ci’s hard care songs as much as the pop hits too. Most fans don’t so I guess Ci has to balance that out. Idk, when it comes to Ci, a lot of things aren’t fair. She can’t do a pop song without somebody saying she’s hollywood. That’s so stupid. she recorded some of her first album DURING highschool… and she’s 24 now… she can’t do the same stuff. where’s the growth then?

  17. rightround(U.S.A pride!- help HAITI!) February 2, 2010

    hard care= hard core

  18. GeeMan February 2, 2010

Everybody held their own on this joint straight heat rock.

  19. Dave February 2, 2010

I agree w/ everything you said Sam. But, Ciara excels on both uptempo’s & ballad’s/mid-tempo’s. Ciara just slays period. Can’t nobody say her ballads like Promise, So Hard, Promise (Go & Get Your Tickets Remix) feat. R. Kelly, Get up (Freak Me Baby Remix) feat. Polow Da Down, & all her ballads from Goodies, Like A Surgeon, Ciara to the Stage, do not slay. The woman is just a bad ass chick. And you can’t deny her drive, determination & hustle. She’s a bad CHICK!

  20. djigguR February 2, 2010

I agree with Dave! Very well said!

  21. yesyes February 3, 2010

    SORRY BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOPE

  23. hihihihi February 3, 2010

    GOD BLESS YALL

  24. red February 3, 2010

Ciara needs to go back to crunk&b , let be honest Goodies was her best selling album and she does the best with her ghetto style and crunk&b

If she goes to mainstream she will lose, I mean I love her but she cant compete with names like Beyonce, Britney, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys ….

  25. d February 3, 2010

ci just need the right songs. stop w the dramatics in every ci post. just like usher put out a album for pop that wasn’t successful, ci put one out tha wasn’t successful. it happens. 6 albums down the line that will be one line and a slew of accomplishments.

  26. d February 3, 2010

@hihihi uhm her voice may be softer and thinner but it’s a far cry from a loud billy goat. try again

  27. me February 3, 2010

i think beyonce still caters to her roots. single ladies is the ghetoest song ever. ciara just should have put out first single for urban. she made single mistakes in the last era that’s all. she’ll be fine. working with dream is a gaurantee.

  28. jwhit214 February 3, 2010

Sooooooooooooooo Sam, what “brand” of R&B do you consider, Single Ladies, Video Phone, Check On It, and Diva? Why is it always a freakin double standard when it comes to Beyonce? Like its ok for her to do it but nobody else?

  29. Cally February 3, 2010

I swear Ci-error and her team are just like politicians, they just don’t get it.

  30. MushyLove_1992 February 3, 2010

  32. me! February 6, 2010

but im hihihihi this is like a rap/whisper type thing she was doing….when she sings ballads she sounds way better than rih…listen to so hard, and i, other chicks, the title, promise, keep dancing on me…..DO YA RESEARCH!
