Sugababes’s ‘Sweet 7’ Pushed Back Again!

Published: Tuesday 23rd Feb 2010 by Sam

Initially set for release in November last year, the Sugababes’ ironically titled new LP ‘Sweet 7’ has been pushed back yet again. Re-scheduled to hit stores on March 8th, the record has been delayed by a week and will now be released on March 15th. No reason has been given for the delay. {Source}

Really, though; what more can be said when it comes to this project? All I can say is that it’ll be really interesting to see how the album goes on to perform considering all the drama surrounding the group, as well as the money that has been pumped into this particular campaign by their label.

Your thoughts?

Can’t stand these crustys but to be fair it is only a week, saying that though, there lucky there are no ther girl groups recording at the moment cos when Girls Aloud and The Saturdays return, these tired trolls will be done for, Bring back the originals, they were far better

I really don’t understand people who call them Sugafakes and that its not the real sugababes anymore. Keisha and Mutya did ONE album with that Siobhan chick and it wasnt until Heidi joined that they had there first number one and top selling album and then the successes followed on from that. When Mutya left AGAIN they had another ring of successes with Amelle including the number one About You Now, and one of their biggest selling albums to do date I do believe. Fair enough there are no original members now, but to say that Heidi and Amelle are not Sugababes is a complete joke because if it wasn’t for them Sugababes as a brand would not have reached the achievements that it has. Heidi has been in the Sugababes far far longer than that Siobhan chick, and Amelle has been in it longer than Mutya. So they cannot be called Sugafakes.

The Sugafakes album has been pushed back so many times. This is gettin retarted. They are SO going to FAIL with this album. People aren’t feelin them at all

@Ni_lewispcdmelodyt…. as how they explained it, no one cares whoever is in the band anymore, what matters is the “BAND”. And that factor right there is just SAD. It didn’t matter if they didn’t have a hit with SIOB because back then they had great, meaningful songs.

I would definitely agree with most of you here that the “sugababes” or so they call themselves, better cower for if they push their album one more time, it might mean the end of their career.

i agree with heidi as a real member of the sugababes…but amelle, no!

it all went down when mutya left, but with heidi and keisha as two “original members” it was ok with me…

but now….not…and replacing keisha with jade was not a good choice

the fact why people dont like them anymore is how they show the world how replaceable they think their members are…i mean, keisha was away and jade was there like 2 days later?

and then they let jade sing keishas parts in songs that already existed…not a good look!

they should have a made a whole new album

by the way, i think they dont harmonize as they did when mutya and keisha were there…

the voices matched perfect together, especially mutyas and keishas!

and now they’re like a cheap girl group with non outstanding songs

Leave the SUGABABES alone the are OFFICALLY the best girl band in the UK. They can sing live and write their owm material. Girls aloud n the saturdays are sooooo crap at thier plastic pop charade. Heidi is a true member and never left when she got an offer of a solo career by Simon Cowell – she remained loyal !!! not like the other 3 stuges who left cos they thort they were bigger than the band. Heidi has more talent in her little finger than most around – Simon Cowell should have made her a judge on the X-factor then all you divs out there would not be going on about the SUGABABES so much.
The staurdays should be called the SUNDAYS (boring like a sunday)
Who ever comes into the suagabes is always well matched – they pick the right ones.
Heidi, Amelle and Jade are the best
Sugababes real girl band not plastic like the others

I don’t agree that they are over either. Even with all the controversy surrounding Keisha leaving and Jade joining and Amelle being ill due to stress related or whatever was reported, they still managed a top ten song with About a Girl which reached number 8 without barely any promotion because they couldn’t promote it due to everything that was going on and Amelle not being with them. As for Wear My Kiss, it is placed at number 3 in the midweeks, and so far with the leak of the album people seem to have responded well to the tracks so I think it will be a success.

Anyone who claims this line-up is not the best vocally is insane. There is more than enough evidence to support them on youtube e.g live performances of Santa Baby, About a Girl, Radio One Live Lounge etc… These all illustrate that the new line-up is fantastic vocally.

The comments about how their songs no longer have any meaning to them and that started when Siobhan left is irrelevant really, because if you think like that then for YOU, the Sugababes was over when Heidi joined so there is no point in arguing your case for saying this new line up isn’t the Sugababes.

I do agree that it is a bit ridiculus how it is treated as a brand but at the end of the day you have to look at it from the angle that these are peoples’ careers. Heidi and Amelle were offered the chance to continue with Jade by their management who wanted to continue making money from the group. Jade wasn’t doing so good in her solo career and the management found a way to make that work for them. As for Keisha, she wasn’t happy, she now has a Solo contract with the management so they will also gain from that and so will Keisha. I’m sure everyone will support her in her solo career.

It is a very strange thing to see though, for songs like Freak Like Me and Push the Button where its Heidi, Mutya and Keisha. Its weird to see Jade and Amelle singing them with Heidi for the reason that they weren’t there when that album was being made, they didn’t share the experiences with Heidi so to perform those songs it does not really mean anything to them and that is what is sad about it. But it musical terms, I love the new line-up. I think they are the best vocal line-up yet and as I have said there are youtube videos to back this up.

The album’s leaked already though so this will be quite interesting. I’m not sure how the album will sell though. I do miss Keisha though!

I’m actually quite sad Jade isn’t a solo artist cause her stuff that leaked sounded quite good!
