I don’t think she was using the songs for attention. The people at the concert knew who they were going to see. She sang plenty of her own solo songs, but she had a small segment to reminisce about her the old days when she was a teenager and making hits with Destiny’s Child. What’s wrong with that? Most people who are LeToya fans remember those old songs, still know the words and it wasn’t like she was trying to prove anything. She let the audience sing most of it, like she was just having fun. At least she is never bitter about her time in DC and never badmouths her former members. She’s always been grateful for it and she’s comfortable singing the songs. As others have said, I can see if she was singing songs from DC3. But she helped WRITE and sing Say My Name, for goodness’ sake, so why can’t she sing it if she wants? Michelle had no part in the creation or singing of the song, but she can lip it and sing parts of it when DC performs, and LeToya has far more of a right to perform it. She has had 2 Top 10 r&b hits so she’s proven herself solo.

TO ME:

She has the right to perform any Destiny’s Child song that she was a part of in the creative process and every song up until ‘The Writings On The Wall’ album, which to me is their breakout album, not ‘Survivor’

It would have been better for her to re-record a solo version and then sing that/along to it live, but maybe she doesn’t wanna do that and have people be like, “Why you hatin’ on Beyonce (and Kelly)”

She is and forever will be a part of DESTINY’S CHILD

Deal with it Sam or Trent whoever wrote this nonsense!

LeToya could have easily held down the second verse in the original Say My Name, if they gave her the opportunity to sing lead! If you listen to WOTW album, its so many songs where Beyonce could have shared verses… Or they could have been sang by other members and it would have still sounded good.

Anyhoo, like everyone else says, she has every right to sing those songs, they are apart of her history, if beyonce and Kelly can do it, then why cant she? Thats not fair

Sam I usually agree with you but I disagree here, you listed Kellys DC Medley as one of the best live performances however she did all of B’S adllibs and her part in Independent Women… So something cant be ok for one person and not the other

That is Letoya’s past and she shouldnt have to feel like a step child and hide it, she put in all the work when they were young and clearly she wrote Say My Name and if theres any DC song you can hear her vocals on, its SAY MY NAME, which is the song that put DC on the map and made them a international success…

NOW… I will say, that the way she went about doing it was somewhat off, she should have come up with her own medley of like no,no,no… bills, bugaboo, and say my name, and just somehow kept the chorus’s and ad lib’d, that definitely could have worked for her!

But im glad to see he do this because it was her past and songs just as much as it was theirs!
