Check out this short preview of Janet Jackson‘s video for ‘Nothing’ – the lead single from the soundtrack of ‘Why Did I Get Married Too’. Directed by Tim Palen, the video in its full-form premières tomorrow (April 1st).
Judging by this clip….as much as I support Janet…this is not the business. Still, I’ll reserve full judgement until seeing the video in its entirety.

Janet is still mourning her brother Michael, it’s so obvious that she is still upset, look at her on 106& Park today. I love Janet and I’m saying this out of love for her, and I truly understand where she is right now, I lost my mother. Janet should stop performing , doing interviews and take a break. Go somewhere and get her mind right. Even if it takes her a year, she needs to mourn, and working will only delay the ultimate breakdown. Cuz when it comes it’s not going to be pretty. Just retire, her acting is more on point anyways, I’sd say if not take a complete break, than a break from singing. And who knows , maybe MJ liked the wig and the outfit, and she did it cuz he liked it. My heart goes out to Janet, she seems so lost right now, if you pay attention to her lately. MJ was definitely a big part of her life.

However, I do feel Janet needs to take some to mourn the death of her brother. She seems quite out of it, but who are we to judge. I know she once said it was important for her to have the strength of her mother. Janet is strong, but it is okay to take a moment to really pause and let out all of the emotional pain inside. I don’t know. Some people handle grief differently.

Umm..since when was it up to Janet to decide where a music video goes when the movie and budget it belongs to ISN’T hers? Honestly people. You act as though everything is her fault. This isn’t even an actual single from her. This is Tyler’s PR pushing out a music video to help build and fan hype for “Why Did i Get Married Too?” It isn’t up to Janet to decide where they make her stand, tilt her head, the wig or clothes she wears, or so on.
You guys need to stop blaming Janet for something that clearly wasn’t under her control and wasn’t a single that she’s putting her own money in to promote. Cut the negativity, its still a very nice song. You can’t expect a “CLUB BANGAAA” for a Tyler Perry movie..especially since its meant to be a DRAMA?

This song is ok, but the vid has to go. I know it is for a movie, but they are using it to hype it up and that is not going to help. That video sucked and the outfit and hair did to. I don’t know why. They could have picked something more sensual to put her in like a nice long silky-like dress or something. Those shoulder pads got to go.

The video should have been like I”ll Will Always Love You, video; Janet sitting in a chair singing, while clips of the movie played in the background. Most importantly, why the music don’t match the lyrics. The lyrics are heartfelt and emotional, so why is it a dance tune, or similar to a dance tune. I love Janet but Jill Scott should have did the single for the movie. Janet , PLEASE TAKE A BREAK AND RELAX. People are saying that we heal differently, but if people pay attention to her facial expressions, her mood, that poor woman is totally drained, my heart is sadden everytime I see her. Jackie and Janet are the only Jacksons I feel for, it’s so obvious that they are wearing their pain on their sleeves. Janet needs a friend to tell her, fuss at her, scream to her, that she needs a break, and stop trying to be strong.

Gosh, there must not be very many posters on this one that are over 20 years old. Janet looked fine on 106 and we all know she works through her pain as a coping mechanism. Didja consider she may simply be tired as I am sure she is in pre-production for “For Colored Girls” while doing this promo stuff and putting together the New Orleans show?
As far as the video, I will reserve judgment until the entire clip surfaces. The wig was indeed a poor choice but I don’t mind the clothes at all.
Regardless, all Janet stans should purchase the song on iTunes/radio, support the film over the weekend and prepare for New Orleans….

Say what you may, but this would never have happned under Rene. He may have been an ass but he knew how to make a video, a song and an entire image POP!
I personally think Janet is working to help to forget the pain of losing her brother albeit she was working on the movie when Michael died she is taking on a lot more projects lately now, more than I have seen from her in years. This video is not to try to get #1 on the charts, or try to break any musical records its just for the movie itself so you people need to chill out. I don’t like the clip I saw so far but I am not going to judge the video right now and even after its made I wont judge it then either because its just a movie promotional video anyway.
I would just love to see her perform live myself, she still out performs most artists on a stage period even at her age.
She is a legend and icon she doesnt need to prove anything to any of you or the world she has already done that. just FYI

People need to give Janet a break. She loved and respected Michael and he recently passed. Some don’t understand how close they were. Janet & Mike were like one soul existing in two bodies. They were so much alike. The media even thought they were the same person at one point (smfh). Leave Janet alone and let her get on with her life. Some may not like her new songs or videos but she’s still an icon.
