While Ciara is gearing up to take the radio airwaves by storm with her new Ludacris-assisted track, ‘Ride’, another song from the entertainer has surfaced. Similar to ‘Ride’, ‘Speechless’ was written and produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. Ciara’s yet-untitled LP hits stores hits stores later this year. Check out the track below:
Why have all the non-club songs produced by The-Dream and Stewart during the last few months sounded almost exactly the same? Although the track is easy on the ear and quite sexy, Ciara has fallen into the same trap that several artists before her have done in recent times: she sounds more like The-Dream than herself. Furthermore, the production break down sounds strikingly similar to Mariah Carey’s ‘Ribbon’. Has R&B’s most popular production duo hit a sudden creative block? Whatever the case may be, their current formula is has grown particularly stale to say the least.

This song was decent until the hook. The speechless part is horrible, because both she and the dream sound horrible. When I read that it sounded like “RIbbon” I got excited; however, this doesn’t hold a candle to the perfection of “Ribbon” Luckily, I wasn’t expecting much since I didn’t like the-dream/tricky tacks on Ciara’s last album, either.
If they fixed the hook it would be a standard fare album track, but as it stands…no, just, no.

This song is absolutely GORGEOUS. Its full of Ciara’s swag, sensuality and credits her vocals. This isn’t a weak song at all. If it hits the Top 20 in the US/UK I will NOT be surprised. This is a song that’s very relationship oriented, meaning that I can imagine people grinding/making out/getting it on to this song. The rhythm is very, very bueno <3

I don’t think Ciara is learning from her mistakes. I can’t see this song or “Ride” being very successful on the charts whatsoever. I mean, the songs aren’t bad at all, but they’re simply mediocre. This song really shows Ciara’s ever-improving vocal ability! She has gotten better! This song is like a GOOD album filler. I am Sick of the dream making everything sound the same in EVERY song with the same LAME ASS adlibs! Come with something new DREAM! I love Ride It also, but I DONT THINK it should be the FIRST single… The first single should have been a more UPBEAT DANCE track for the Spring and Summer… I AM A HUGE CIARA STAN!
