Mariah Carey has been a busy woman lately. Having just ended her ‘Angel’s Advocate’ US tour and preparing for the release of her similarly titled remix album, another track from her new project has surfaced. The remixed version of ‘Ribbon’ features the song’s co-writer, The-Dream, and rapper Ludacris. ‘Angel’s Advocate’ will be exclusively released via Target on March 30th. Give the song a listen below:
Remember back when a Carey remix meant that she actually returned to the studio and remixed the song? It seems that with all the new studio tricks available to artists today, she has decided to take the easy (and lazy) route with the handling of this project. This track features no new vocals from Carey and slightly altered productions to compensate for the ‘cut and paste’ addition of The-Dream and Ludacris’ verses. I hope she realises that half the effort yields half the results, so if the original ‘Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel’ LP sold just over 445k copies, imagine what this remixed version will sell given her uninspired attempts at revamping the project.

@Blasian – I couldn’t agree more with you, I have been saying this ever since Memoirs came out. The Dream can make a hit – just not an entire album. Jermaine Durpi can make an album – he produced almost all of Emancipation and that album was one of the best of the last decade.
He should have been hired like he was for E=MC2 – for one or two songs (like Touch My Body) cause, when doing an entire album, some songs end up sounding practically the same…
Still, I’m a lamb and stan HARD for my girl, MC…

i hope the little break that she and jermaine had did wonders for their creative chemistry because their work on E=MC2 was uninspired to say the least.

HELL NO. I LOVE Mariah, but hell to the no. The-Dream messed the whole fucking song up, not to mention the albums…Ludacris was fine, the-dream need to sit his bubblegum ass down. i’m tired of this SHIT. Mariah Needs To Work with people who know how to actually produce and compose good material, because she needs help. obviously, she has hit a creative wall recently, cause all of this shit is just unacceptable. the only song on this remix album, i want to hear is “It’s A Wrap” with Mary J Blige..

Lovin both the remix and the regular version!
Its great to have an upbeat, happy song for the summer. Looks like they had fun on this track so props to MC.
And above all, Im just glad I got to hear it today! Been waitin on this remix LP a long time. Lookin forward to the jumpsmokers remix lp even more!
