Actually, the first thing I thought of was Ginuwine’s “Pony”, which had a mechanical bull in it.
And that’s probably more of the inspiration because of the “ride it” lyric in Ginuwine’s song. Plus, the grittiness of Ciara’s “Ride” is very much inspired by that 90’s sound, as was “Like A Surgeon” .. Ciara’s style is very much like Ginuwine and Aaliyah with the street and s*** dance. Ciara doesn’t have to copy the popular entertainers of the past few years when there were much better URBAN artists who snatched and matted wigs in the previous decade.

I don’t want this comment to seem like I’m saying Ciara copied. But what I’d like this to read as is that it’s okay to compare two vaguely similar contemporaries. If Video A looks like Video B and they both were created by artists of the same genre, in a close time span, why wouldn’t you compare them? Lady Gaga didn’t invent shoulder pads and crazy style but any artist to do that now will be said to be copying. is this true? Well yes sort of. You could spend all day saying who the first performer to ever wear shoulder pads was, but that really doesn’t matter. It’s very hard these days to be completely original, but its obvious when someone does something that someone JUST did rather than what has already been done a long time ago. So defending someone for copying by saying that they didn’t copy because it’s been done a million times before is kinda faulty – especially since why would you want to copy something done a million times before anyway.
