Monica made a guest appearance on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ today. The R&B singer performed the 1st single from her ‘Still Standing’ LP, ‘Everything To Me’. The track ha thus far peaked at #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Check out Monica’s performance below:

@THE GRAMMY COMMENT. THIS IS TRUE BUT SOMETIMES IN THE R&B CATEGORY DO U SEE NOMINATIONS LIKE “I DIDN’T KNOW THIS PERSON WAS OUT?” LIKE WITH LALAH HATHAWAY AND LEDISI THEY DONT NECESSARILY SELL WELL EITHER.
Ok…so apparently the lot of you have untrained ears however I heard so many sharp notes throughout that performance I’m sure my lobes are sliced. Its a decent performance based on todays standards but the whitney comparisons are laughable. Same runs over and over seems mundane (unlike lauren hill, who does the same run but its so damn beautiful!). Monica’s lower register is where the money is…she struggled on the top parts. To top it off her background singers did not blend well at all during that “dynamic” ending ::blank stare:: The whole time she was holding that “big note” at the end she was sharp until she went into her comfort zone and did that descending scale run. At least when Beyowolf does it she changes the runs up. LOL. Lookin like the 90’s and soundin like a cheap imitation of deniece williams is not really timeless and/or innovative. …its a cool song I guess, but hell the girl from Belly did the song more justice…so thats not even a good look for Monica. Hope she has another missy joint for a 2nd single cause she’s gonna need it…or come June we’ll forget she even came out. And BTW…that car Polow bought her is worth more than whatever the record label can recoup from her 300,000 sold to date…::kanyeshrug::

Clearly Monica is doing something right. Her single was number 1 for weeks on the R&B charts, had the number 1 R&B album, and her album is still doing well. Facts speaks for themselves, and she still delivers great performances… People will always Hate on other people’s success. Can’t please everyone, especially those who don’t have any. lol
Beyonce could NOT match Monica’s power. Every note may not be PEFRECT. If you want PERFECT go look at her George Lopez performance from last week.
Am I the only one who is noticing that this young woman sounds this good and obviously has some sort of cold or sinus thing going on? You can hear it in her voice. It was even more obvious on the Jay Leno performance which was likely taped around the same time as this and she still managed to belt those notes at the end.. The George Lopez performance certainly came after because she was in rare form. I say all that to say, who else is SANGING like that…and sick?!!! NO ONE!!! Y’all better get off my girl. She is not playing this time around. Get like her or get on!!!
