Christina Aguilera would like you to know that she has “absolutely nothing against Lady GaGa“. The aspiring diva has posted a personal note to her fans on her official website where she has denounced claims that she is feuding with her fellow (and currently more successful) Pop star. Dear Fans,
I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that.
There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods.This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter.

It’s clear that Aguilera thinks that we are all stupid. Nobody has taken her words out of context or tried to pit her against anyone. Remember back when she said that she didn’t know if GaGa was a man or a woman? Aguilera has had an extensive track record of starting feuds with other artists, especially when she has a new album to promote. It seems that in addition to taking her clothes off, she has found yet another way of tackling her insecurities regarding her talent by trying to insult other acts. From Britney Spears to Mariah Carey to Mary J. Blige and now GaGa, her reputation in the industry for having multiple confrontations with other artists continues to fester.
What is even more insulting to our intelligence is that Aguilera is trying to make the media coverage of her issues with GaGa yet another feminist issue just like she did with her ‘Not Myself Tonight’ video. The patriarchal pressure of the mass media may have made Aguilera resort to getting naked in her video, but it certainly did not make her insult almost every other female in the game who she regards as competition.
