Drake’s debut album, ‘Thank Me Later’, has made a big splash on the Billboard 200. The record has sold over 447k copies in it’s 1st week, giving Drake the best debut sales of any solo act since Susan Boyle’s ‘I Dream A Dream’ LP back in 2009. ‘Thank Me Later’ has had the 3rd best sales week of the year behind Sade’s ‘Soldier of Love’ and Lady Antebellum’s ‘Need You Now’. {Source}

GIRL! Jay z only sold 10k more than Drake with Blue Print 3 in the first week, and this is Drake’s first album. Yes honey I think we’ve crowned a new champion. Sold 100k more copies in the first week than Chris Brown has sold to this day! BLAHAHAHAH <3

great sales for a debut artist. Drake should be very proud. But it was kind of expected. Congrats none the less.
And of course everyone knows Eminem is gonna have the #1 album next week. It’s in the stars lol. His first single was number one, his promo’s been decent and he has another song that’s already getting a lot of attention.
Emienem and Rihanna ??? Who would’ve thought that would work? But it does and it sounds amazing!
It’d be awesome if Em could score the number one album and the number one single in the same week. But idk if “Love The Way” is gonna knock Katy Perry off the top spot. Her downloads and radio airplay have been ridicilous. I think “Lie” will debut at #2 next week.
But what a great comeback of sorts for Em.

Drake’s album is FIYAH! The sales are GREAT, but I think if he would have released at the end of last year or at the beginning of this year he would have had WAY more sales. I think he dragged on his hype a little too long. But good for him anyway!
