Kelly Rowland has finally unveiled the title of her upcoming LP. The ‘Commander’ singer sat down with Power 105 FM’s Ed Lover and revealed that she has chosen to call the record ‘Kelly Rowland’. Expect the self-titled album to hit stores on September 14th. {Source}

i love the title – i myself was wondering what possible title she can choose and she kept saying that whenever she chose a title she goodled it to see if it was taken and it was – im glad its just kelly rowland because this album will solidify what she has been striving towards since dilemma with nelly (not to leave out Avant-Sepaarated but i dont know if they were planing solo efforts back then). im glad sshe kept her brand name the same – kelendria would’nt have it but kelly rowland has a better ring to it and that what ppl know her as so im elated about the album title especially as a followup to MS kelly – its like she keeps reiterating who she is until everyone knows – get it mama!! smart move!! ull never have to guess who the album is by when their name is the album title – no mistakes there!!

Right about now, I couldn’t give a heck what her album name is. The official Commander video was supposed to be released on the 14th of June, then changed to “this week”. What next? Next week? When is that going to be, next millennium? The public might as well take the leaked video as an official one because I’m starting to lose interest in the video (and possibly the song too). Sad though, because I really thought I could like it. Kelly, Kelly, Kelly.

The album is a reflection of the real Kelly, and it’s like an introduction to the industry now that she’s on a new label and now that she’s free to be herself. ‘KELLY ROWLAND’ is the perfect album title. Ya’ll can’t be that dense, and the title doesn’t take away from the content of the album. The album is hot, and no one can take that away!!!

1 Ms.Kelly is not her name, so that wasn’t a selftitled album. Her name is Kelly Rowland.
2 Everyone knows on June 29th her two US singles Grown Woman and Rose Colored Glasses hit radio stations in the US.
3 If you knew anything you would notice a lot of artiste have the 3rd album as a selftitled album and Kelly is at that point in her life where it makes perfect sense for the title pick.She is reintroducing herself under a new label, has a dance diva, with an album that shows her versatility, pop, R&B, dance etc.

Y’all putting too much into it she could’ve named the album “Kiss My Ass Media” as long as the music behind the cover is good, IDGAF! Some of y’all just sound bored HOWEVER, I do agree she should’ve went with KELENDRIA I think it gives her this diva effect that would’ve worked well with the singles. Kelly Rowland is kind of redundant for me only because the last album was called Ms. Kelly. I really want all artist to consider the names of these albums they drop because it can make or break the record when people pick it up in the store. Michael Jackson was good with coming up for names for his albums which was good because he usually always picked a song from the album which summed it the entire project up, it usually became a single, somewhere around the world (Long live the king) so that when you’re in the store and see it your mind goes straight to the song. Still at the end of the day its all about the music behind the cover, which I hope is effn smoking and not low budget like a certain diva’s currently on shelves.

I think she is worried that not enough people in the US know who she is, despite the factI have loved her for years. A self-titled debut not only will introduce her to more people but also shows a growth and transformation from being simply Ms. Kelly: she has now done something she has wanted to do, took a chance, and received excellent reviews.
Grown Ass Woman would be a good title, but I would rather have it not be a song title. Something like Out of the Dark maybe…. somethign catchy. but still love her choice 🙂
