Right, the song does sound like Ke$ha’s ‘TiK ToK’ but still, it’s a good summer song with a video that deosn’t so as as rip-off Lady GaGa as Paloma Faith tbh. (Americans won’t have heard of her, she’s a small UK artist, check out her video for ‘Upside Down’, i think Katy may have watched it…)
Still, this is gunna be huge this summer, ‘RockStar 101’ is not a #1 hit, niether is ‘Alejandro’, the albums have sold too many copies for third and fourth singles to hit #1 now.
This however, does have a fighting chance, depsite the fact I actually prefer ‘Alejandro’.

Katy Perry is a n**. I like how the concept is s*** and cute without being sleezy. I think the predictable route would have been a “Rump-shaker” type of video with girls flinging parts in skimpy bikinis, but she took it in another direction, and I think that’s cool.
Top Ten will be a victory for Rockstar 101 because it’s not dance pop and it’s different from what Rihanna usually puts out. Plus, black women get virtually no love Stateside in the rock genre, so for Rockstar 101 to be a hit would be really special.

The video looks cute and playful. I like the song. I admit it does give a hint of “Tik Tok”, but it’s still a good song. I don’t understand why people keep bringing up other artist and ish, but since you did, even if Rihanna’s “Rockstar 101” doesn’t make a top10 hit, it’s still a hit because I hear almost everybody singing a line from a song, and I hear it as they ringback, and ringtone. “Alejandro”, I expect it to go at least #3 because….she’s Gaga. It’s #6 right now and the video hasn’t premiered yet. But anyways, congrats to Katy. I hope this new album sounds as good (or better) than the first

I’m interested in seeing it. Song is growing on me, though it will most likely become annoying by mid-summer. Would have been a little better if she would have just stuck with the typical beach & rollerblades theme, since that is what California is mostly known for, instead of the Alice In Wonderland vibe. Still don’t think Snoop Dizzle fits on a song like this, but hey, they are both California natives, they both are labelmates at Capitol Records, and everybody loves a pop/corny rap collabo……….and Snoop wants more mainstream success, so this will definitely give him that.
