Despite featuring a heavy backing track, I rather enjoyed that. Yes, Diddy sucks, and Kaleena blends too easily into the background; but Dawn killed it and the performance overall was the business. Good stuff.

To anyone saying this was s*** I bet had you been in that room you’d have been screaming like you just seen the baby Jesus…yall just love to hate coz you don;t like individual characters don’t let that stop you from acknowledging when someone actually does a good job. I think Diddy is the biggest d***** going but I have to say he knows how to hype a crowd and has a certain charisma…Kalenna has moments where she is really striking but above all that mess she has a phenominal voice (if you were interested you’d know) and Dawn, Dawn has everything it takes to be a star but she aint got the confidence to believe it herself so she continues to get played by Diddy.
These girls sing virtually every song with Diddy adding his lame verse, the problem is Diddy is convinced it’s his name that with sell the album so he puts out the stuff that predominantly feature him, hence the girls background singer image. Should he drop his ego and realise the best tracks on this album actually showcase the superb vocals of two incredibly talented females we might just start believing in the GROUP as a whole and not just a damn gimic.

I agree. I can’t stand Diddy, he’s very mean, fake, arrogant, and a con artist, but this performance was pleasantly GOOD! It was one of the best performances that I have seen on a talk show from male or female. The only thing is that Dawn and Kalenna were barely singing and just using the back up track. The moves were on point though, and they had such great stage presence and attitude.
Dawn really has it. Back in her DK days she was ugly as hell and was so skinny, but now she has such a nice shape and her face isn’t bad looking. Kalenna is ugly and wasn’t dancing much, but she has swagger to her. I’m not mad at Dawn for putting up with this bs because she HAS TO EAT. Diddy was so damn rude to all the girls and dropped them like a hot potato, not making sure they had some money to get on their feet in the real world.
She made a stupid mistake of trusting this buffoon who always had one hit artists, but when DK broke up, all of them were struggling with their bills and had no money/food! Right now she’s getting paid for writing lyrics for artists and for performing with Diddy at shows and she gets to travel to different countries.

This is an opportunity to be seen, anyone mad at Dawn for this has lost their damn mind. Dawn was not rich before the group and dare I say it, was in a far worse situation to the other girls, ok Shannon had it hard but Aubrey has always been a rich OC girl so was never hurting for money n never will (the barbie effect), Aundrea & D Woods were ok.
Dawn had been through Katrina n moved her family to Baltimore with two teachers for parents she was struggling and I’m sure Diddy pointed that out to her as often as possible ‘what label would knock on her door?’. D had the R&B chick look + Young Money & Atlanta connections (sister), Aubrey would have MTV/VH1/E drooling, Aundrea would be snapped up by any label with a brain looking for the next Xtina and Shannon was a beauty + possibly the best dancer she could make it work.
She was and is still hustling for her life coz all she wants to do is sing and make music which was never the case for Aubrey & D, they simply wanted to use it as a steping stone to fame and the stardom, hence their current endevours and I aint made at them for that coz the music biz is dead right now. You can not be rich writing for an album that is not out yet or singles that barely sell so anyone thinking that all the ‘label owned hair, makeup, clothes styling & shoes’ means Dawn is rolling in it you are mistaken…smoke and mirrors baby, apart from the odd piece, that stuff goes right back on a rack and back in the stylists archive. Any artist advance money went straight to Diddy or have been blown on promo and unnecessary big budget videos n feature artists (totally unnecessary).
She is far from rich coz what else is she doing to make money outside of no profit group? sidebar: if your a supporter buy her comic book coz thats money in her pocket.

Bee, I agree with you. sometimes I read these comments when people are saying she’s rich and it makes me cringe a little lol. Dawn said so many times that she is not rich. Sometimes you just have to let people think what they want to think and it will be known in the end. I seriously doubt dawn or kalenna are paying for these shoes/clothes. one thing about diddy, if you are rolling with him, you have to roll fly lol. its hard for dawn to catch a break because she has that stigma of being on a reality show. kalenna was already doing her thing before she hooked up with dirty money. sadly, I think dawn will fade to black when it’s all said and done (at least music wise)..

For those saying Dawn is stupid, I bellieve she was still under contract with Diddy when he disbanded DK so she didn’t have much of a choice but to do WHATEVER he tells her to do. I don’t think she has much control of anything involving Diddy. Some of these contracts make these artists modern day indentured servants and trust, nothing we see has not been ok’d and/or orchestrated by label, managers, etc.
Luckily for the girls, they still are earning some $ and getting the chance to travel and perform so i guess that is the positive. Oh yeah and I didn’t really like the performance, the girls reallly didn’t get to do much and Diddy moves like his body hurts. Oh well!
Funny how Dawn is the main one getting work and exposure for the right reasons. Which is exactly what would have kept DK on top.
