Pop diva Christina Aguilera was spotted out about in Beverly Hills earlier this week, rocking a more demure look. It marks the first time the 29 year old has been seen in public since her latest album ‘Bionic’ tanked on the Billboard charts – despite a huge promotional push.
Word has it the album is performing better in other non-US territories. However many have labelled the record (which ironically is rather solid) an undeniable flop – based on the fact that her promotional efforts were almost exclusively geared at the US (her biggest market).
Worse still for Aguilera’s fans, it appears as though the ‘Not Myself Tonight’ singer is shifting her focus to new movie ‘Burlesque’. For she’s been quietly doing the promo rounds for the film, recently chatting it up with USA Today – yet with no mention of the album in any capacity. Perhaps the mother of one and her team are hoping that if they move onto the film project with the swiftness, folk will forget ‘Bionic’ ever existed. Sad thing is, I think they have already.
In any case, it’ll be interesting to see what Ms. Aguilera’s next musical move is. Rush out a new album? Take ANOTHER 4 years off? Who knows…time will tell.

First of all, CHRISTINA AGUILERA IS UGLY AS HELL WITHOUT MAKEUP! MAKEUP CAN DO WONDERS FOR ANYBODY HUH? She looks nothing how she does in her photoshopped pics or when she’s wearing 20 pounds of makeup. The only reason why I recognized her is because she was always this hideous looking without makeup. She’s so pale and has aged skin. She looks like a bag lady.
Second of all, her album has officially flopped and it’s because her time is up! It happens to every single music artist some point in their life. It’s also karma to her for being so arrogant and selling sex so damn badly. That “Not Myself Tonight” video screamed despite need of trying to make a comeback by doing electro-pop music because lady gaga made it popular, but because Madonna is the one who did all of the overly sexed, kooky, bondage videos, Aguilera was able to get away with being inspired by Gaga by saying that Madonna was the inspiration for the video.

I commend her for trying, she can come back if she really wants to. She just has to work hard and not dress like this.
I disagree with people saying she was inspired by gaga and all of that. I’m sure gaga played a roll in it, but you have to remember she experimented with the same style around the same time gaga was first coming out.
That’s also going to naturally happen if she’s working with any of the same producers. The fact of the matter is, that IS the style for pop now. Black Eyed Peas and Usher are two other examples, but nobody goes so far as to say they copied Gaga.
Aguilera is always against somebody, people fail to look at her work as it’s own and they’re quick to judge because they don’t want to like the music.

I think people need to let it go already! It’s so aggravating that here in the us they are sooo quick to bash their own and criticize her like it’s nobody’s business! Most of this flying bullshit stemmed from perezhilton and lady gaga monsters! Her album is actually the best out of all of them as far as im concerned. And NO it’s not a flop! it’s a top 20 album in 21 countries so sorry… look up your facts “Perez/monsters” before you continue on your childish quest! You need to respect this woman, she is a mother, and a wife and someone who actually uses her star power to help others in the world and with the amount of idiot stars that are out to gain more popularity and exposure it’s a nice to see someone who is tagged as a BITCH! Even when the shades hat & shades on, you can clearly tell she’s fugly without all of the caked on make up just like Lady Goo Goo, Kim K and the rest.
Photo-shop and glamor does wonders.
Nothing will save Bionic at this rate, and Christina might as well turn her focus over to her new film because the general public ain’t checkin for Bionic. The album dropped 10 more places on BB 200 chart.

To the person who said people aren’t saying Black Eyed Peas copied Gaga, it’s because they didn’t! Their album was created and made before the time when Lady Gaga was even big.
Not to mention the albums have totally different sounds. The reason wjhy ppl don’t say Usher copied Gaga, is because

sounds more like a BEP song than a Gaga song. Which makes sense since will.i.am produced it!
Christina Aguilera’s
‘Bionic’
is a pretty decent album to me. She is def taking a riskh by releasing a ballad in the summer time rather than saving it for the Fall/September, but
“You Lost Me”
is hot.
If I was her label I would have resulted to what Usher did, and released a single that sounds like the Electronic Dance cuts all over radio now (Meaning I woulda released “Elastic Love” “Bionic”or “Primma Donna”) but Xtina and her label didn’t.
They are doing somethign different in current mainstream Pop music and you really can’t deny that!

How can you say she’s ugly as hell when you can hardly see any of her face in these pics? I’ve seen other pics of her without makeup on taken recently and of course she doesn’t look as good as she does in a photo-shoot – do you look as good without make-up on? I sure as hell don’t – when I look in the mirror first thing I look like a labrador on a bad hair day. Also in what way is being pale ugly? Clothes-wise I’m assuming the point here is for her to be dressed down and therefore blend in so she doesn’t get bothered by people. Second her album flopped relatively speaking in the US, not everywhere else – and even if it had been a flop on the scale of not even getting into the top 10 on Billboard why would that mean the end of her career? – lots of artists come back from this kind of downer.

If she was I think she would be promoting like crazy and trying as hard as possible to be in the spotlight to get attention for her album, also if she was so concerned she would of rush released a second single long time ago when it was obvious NMT wasnt gonna be a hit. But she hasnt. Shes just making the video of the second single now and its early july. Just because the album has slipped down doesnt mean it cant come back up. She hasnt done much promotion and the first single wasnt very popular so of course it will slip down theres no attention to it. When the second single is released am sure it go back up. Christina is an amazing artist she just temporarily lost herself hopefully she can regain things and bring this album back to life. I just think “Not Myself Tonight” was a weak first single. It would have been great as a radio-single though. I wish her nothing but the best. She just needs to remain TRUE to her, not flow with the whole “LADY GAGA-MOVEMENT”. This also makes me wonder what J.Simp’s up to? [Besides dating a separated man)… She’s from that era and needs a nice STRONG comeback like Britney. I think the problem with Bionic was definitely the label. NMT wasn’t the right lead single and the video was a total mess with far too many Gaga style elements. For an example of how to do the whole campaign properly you’ve just got to look at the launch of Kylie’s new Aphrodite album – first bring out a good lead single ahead of the launch with a good video, next release a magamix of the album tracks for free on Amazon etc to wet everyone’s appetite, then have the artist themselves do appearances around the world just prior to launch – result: her comeback album was released on Monday in UK and Tuesday in US – by Wednesday it was outselling Eminem by 2 to 1 in the UK and was already on its way to #1 in 8 countries.

You guys gave her album a 4 out of 5 right? It’s true that it flopped, but does it in any way diminish the quality? I thought this site is all about good music. Why do you continuously criticize Christina for something she doesn’t have control of, when in fact she was able to do her job and pulled off a great album? Even Billboard agreed when they said that it’s the best mainstream album of the year yet. Music should be judge on itself and not on the sales.
Seriously guys, I swear, some of you don’t have a life. Just enjoy the music and let these artists worry about the sales because no matter how you fret, you ain’t getting any share from it.

As for -{BIONIC}- XTina is finnishing the video and it will be out soon (a clip is already floating around and it looks awsome). Why is everybody hating on XTina? yeah the album is CURRENTLY flopping but NMT was a stupid single choice and “you lost me” will probably pick things up.
Why do we ALWAYS have to compare XTina to annother artist?! why is nobody comparing Gaga (AKA QUEEN PAYOLA) to Madonna, Grace Jones, Kylie Minogue, Roisin Murphy, Kerli, David Bowie or Bjork who she routinely swagger jacks?
At the end of the day EVERY artist will have at least one flop album during their career (Mariah Glitter, E=MC2, Memoirs, Madonna American Life, Hard Candy, Kylie Minogue Impossible Princess) just because an album flops it doesn’t mean the quality of the music is bad it just usually comes down to poor single choices and promotion.
I think XTina needs to promote more internationally because despite sams bullshit that is her biggest market. Also maybe her label should pay stations to play her music like Gaga’s do.

REALITY CHECK: the bloggers didnt say her album was bad. they just dont like her lack of promo on this album. and her lack of control over her big mouth, which is basically the main culprit behind her big ass FLOP :/

Bionic’s performance in the charts has nothing to do with the quality of the work and, of all things, Christina’s attitude, it”s a reflection of today’s industry. This blog was one of the first that I read that bashed Christina’s poor sales, even telling her that the industry has really left her behind. Well given that some of the artists charting are Kesha and Bieber, I don’t give a damn if Christina flops for the rest of her life, as long as she give us good music.
