Soulful songstress Jazmine Sullivan will release her sophomore effort on September 28th, according to Amazon’s latest listings. Tentatively titled ‘Love Me Back’, the album – the follow-up to 2008′s ‘Fearless’, is preceded by the Missy Elliott produced single ‘Holding You Down’.
With no video in sight for ‘Holding You Down’, and promotional efforts still in their earliest stages, I can’t help but think that the date is subject to change. Regardless, I’m more than amped for the album. After Jazmine’s was unceremoniously shut-out at last year’s Grammy’s (five nominations, no wins), we are – as I’m sure she is too – eager to see her achieve the success she deserves. Roll on September….

I smell a another push back by a different artist. What is wrong with these girls? Beyonce takes a break and these flop hoes refuse to take advantage of it.
Where the fuck is Fantasia and her promote? I smell another push back from her.

Jazmine Sullivan is one of the best artists to come out in a while. She is an excellent writter (monica’s Everything to me) and a good vocalist. Missy isn’t handling her career @ C…she’s just a producer…and her a&r. Its Clive Davis who we have to get her away from. I mean his only real concerns are Whitney and Alicia…with the occasional consideration given to Jennifer Hudson. All other artists on J Records are gonna do gold and then fall off.

@phatmat44:
BTW, most of the songs on my list are self-explanatory, however you have to listen to “Green Light” and “Kitty Kat” carefully to get the message. In “Green Light” the man is not doing the things he use to do and acts like he want to leave her, so she gives him the ‘green light’ to go ahead and leave, stating “ain’t no problem you can go, I will find somebody else, so why not move along.” In “Kitty Kat” the man is taking her for granted– leaving her home alone at night and not returning calls, so she (along w/her ‘Kitty Kat’) decides to take matters into her own hands and leave him. These are two fun, simple songs w/an ‘it’s over, but things will be ok’ type message from Beyonce’s B-day album.
