Usher Readies Another Single From ‘Versus’ EP

Published: Monday 12th Jul 2010 by Sam

Despite the lead single from Usher‘s newly-announced EP  ‘Versus’ having only just premièred, details of its follow-up have surfaced. It now appears that the Pop-flavoured ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ will be the record’s Mainstream/Crossover single, while new track ‘Hot Tottie’ – which was produced by Polow Da Don – will be geared towards the Urban audience. ‘Hot Tottie’ is reportedly set to hit radio on August 9th. {Source}

Needless to say, Usher and his team are covering all bases with this current era of his. Who would have thought a year or even 6 months ago that Mr Raymond would have the industry in the palm of his hand again? With ‘Raymond vs Raymond’ serving as one the year’s biggest sellers and ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ blowing up on radio already, it really has been a great comeback for the father of two. Here’s hoping her serves up the goods with the new release. ‘Versus’ hits stores August 24th.

Randomness: Did you know Usher is no longer managed by his mother? After dropping her during Tameka-gate, then re-hiring her afterwards, the R&B crooner is now managed by AEG and Randy Philips (the man behind Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’). There’s no doubt his signing with Philips (whose financial and business resources are limitless) has been a major factor in his reversal of career fortunes.

    Usher is doing ok this era I would not say it has been great . As for Randy Phillps and AEG they also represent Toni Braxton and nothing popped so I wouldn’t be so fast to give them props Sam.

    I’ve been a huge Usher fan all of my life, and I know he’s trying to get money, but he is a SELL OUT.

    I agree the first two commenterS.

    This era has not been anything OVERLY spectacular, your making it seem as though he is doing just as well as he was in 2004, ummm HELL NO!

    As for selling out, yeah I never thought Usher would turn Pop. Like I just always thought he’d be one of those R&B singers who could manage to be a Pop star while still singing R&B.

    But hey Beyonce pretty much did too, so he isn’t the sole sell out!

    He’s doing really good compared to the last album he dropped. People were not happy about how he dogged his mom and married that old lady but Usher is talented and we all know that. I hope it works it for him with AEG.( Doing it like MJ eh).

    I haven’t heard the new single ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ but I knew he was gonna cross over to Pop after that song OMG was released!!! That’s where the money is Usher! But don’t disown your r&b fans to please the other side.

    @GEE MAN
    Toni Braxton aint in high demand though. Her latest album is good but she had no right remixing “Yesterday” and putting that mediocre R. Kelly wanna-be on it.

    New management has obviously helped Usher cuz lord knows he can’t do it on his own (Wasn’t he the one who thought “Here I Flopped” was a good album ? )
    Anyway, I like he has the Pop & R&B thing down I think. If Chris Brown could do it why can’t Usher ?
