@THE GODDESS OF TRUTH A rapper. He hasn’t made it big yet, but he’s a great lyricist, & makes Drake’s music sound like nursery rhymes.

^^^ Aren’t they already nursery rhymes?

Oh stop trying to diss Drake because J Cole is not a genius or lyrical god. He is just good compared to the abc lyrics we hear on a daily but he is nothing special at all! Lupe, Kanye and many more are better than this dude. Now everyone wants to diss Drake and jump on J Cole’s band waggon and next year the same people dissing Drake will be dissing J Cole for the new HOT FOR THE MOMENT ARTIST… Ya’ll will be ONE TO THE NEXT ONE!

@lol kanye west, really? Kanye west is not on the same level lyric wise as lupe, common talib kweli or j.cole for that matter. but i do agree with u that ppl need to stop dissin drake, now that j.cole is getting bigger. both artist have nothing to do with each other.
drake is great at delivering hit songs for the masses while j.cole’s music as great as it is, doesn’t really cater much for the mtv generation who believe that a grown women wearing a pink wig is hiphop.
although drake and nicki are both hot property right now, lets remeber that once upon a time ja rule/ashanti, and 50 cent/gunit were ruling the charts. the masses are not loyal and will jump from one hot thing to another.

Why is it necessary to compare J.Cole and Drake? J.Cole hasn’t even released his debut album, and IMO you can’t fully analyze the similarities/differences without listening to both artists entire album. You just never know how well an artist is until their album is released because they could be all hype initially and fall short on a 15 track album.

All rappers will inevitably be compared. I’ve jumped on the J. Cole bandwagon since his 1st mixtape & quite frankly the new music that’s leaking is no different from his story-telling abilities that made me become a fan of his. Unlike Drake, who feels the need to market towards the female demographic to gain more sales. I will always love mixtape Drake, but his new album wasn’t really all that, just a few punchlines, nothing much.

Ellepink: ‘although drake and nicki are both hot property right now, lets remeber that once upon a time ja rule/ashanti, and 50 cent/gunit were ruling the charts. the masses are not loyal and will jump from one hot thing to another.’

I completely agree with the above. J. Cole is definitely in the ‘rare artist’ category for me. Hes some who actually takes the time to make quality music and isnt simply in a rush to have number ones and sell big numbers.

Though i do like Drake and the others, i find J. Coles music more alluring and something which can stand the test of time. While others are making music that appeals to the masses, as Ellepink so cleverly pointed out, that in no way determines the longevity of an artist.

    J. Cole, is an artist who is not only bringing back true Hip Hop, but he also alludes to the fact that he has put in an incredible amount of effort into his work to deliver something truly great. Unfortunately, thats not something that can be said about the majority of artists nowadays who seem to be getting all the number ones on the charts.

All i can say is that i will definitely be buying his album when it comes out, because an artist such as J. Cole, really is a rarity nowadays.
