With Nicki Minaj‘s debut album standing as one the year’s most anticipated, it was not surprising to see the fanfare surrounding her grand announcement of the LP’s title a few moments ago on Ustream. Check out what the Young Money star named the record after the jump…
Speaking in her now-trademark British accent, Minaj said:
“To carry on a great tradition of Black Friday, we are going to switch it up this year in honor of the Nicki Minaj album and call that day Pink Friday, and call my album ‘Pink Friday’.
The 27 year old then signed off with:
“It’s Barbie, Bitch!”
Hmm. It’s clear to see where Minaj was trying to go with the concept (the album drops on the Tuesday before Black Friday – the biggest shopping day of the year in the US). But no…just no.
Surely, with her dizzy levels of creativity, she could have mustered up something with a more ‘umph’ or at the very least something which wouldn’t alienate a large portion of her Hip-Hop following?
In any case, with the buzz Ms.Minaj has drummed up thus far, she looks set to steam-roll over the competition come the album’s release date (November 23rd). With that said…
