According to the ever-reliable site, the vocal offender’s new single is titled ‘Only Girl’.
Def Pen Radio has exclusively learned the lead single from Rihanna‘s yet to be titled album will be called ‘Only Girl’. The record is a dance record, “Looks like no more dark music, back to Umbrella Rihanna” from our source who heard the dance track. There is no set date for when ‘Only Girl’ will be released, but information on Rihanna’s new album is coming in rapidly. {Source}
It’s still so shocking to see her label rushing out yet another album (‘Rated R’ is but 9 months old). Then again, when you’re a Billy Goat in heels, and actual talent eludes you, what other options are there? Clearly, the name of the game with Ms. Fenty is to strike while the iron is hot, for fear of people realising she has no talent (walking up and down while sounding like a pig in heat doesn’t count). It appears her team rationalise what us enlightened folk already know: Runway RiRi is only as good as her last hit. Speaking of which, where did ‘Te Amo’ and ‘Rockstar 101’ peak in the end?

Well well well. “Back to ‘Umbrella’ Rihanna”? Obviously Rihanna’s team has paid attention to the fact that most people weren’t interested in the imitation rock star vibe of her ‘Rated R’ LP. Island Def Jam has definitely noted the success of ‘Rude Boy’ compared to her other singles and has decided to stick to the formula that works.
However this begs the question: who is the real Rihanna? The Rated R record was supposedly her vision and a glimpse to who she truly is an as artist (and I use that term loosely). It seems more apparent with every record that she is a puppet on a string and merely operates in relation to the orders given to her by her label. This is not surprising as empty barrels are easiest to move.

Anyways, Trent and Sams’ views may be a little harsh, but its the truth. And the truth isn’t always going to be pretty. I find myself asking the same question. Who is Rihanna. She said that Rated R was her vision and it was who she really is, but didn’t she say the same thing while promoting Good Girl Gone Bad? To be honest, I feel shes kind of lost. The world isn’t going to know who the real Rihanna is until she digs deep down within herself, and find it on her own. Like I said before, the quality of her music went to the dogs after, her second album. I never understood the hype over GGGB to be honest. But I will end this saying that “Music of the Sun” and “A Girl Like Me” will always be apart of my cd collection.

It was more like her RECORD LABEL’S “vision” to milk what happened between her and Chris, and center her music and image around all of that just so they could sell records. Rihanna claimed to have taken part in the creative process on this album, let me tell you that her “contribution” to this album besides singing the tracks was telling the songwriters how she feels (to all the stans who are gonna say that I’m making this up: go look up an interview she did with W magazine last year). A REAL artist would’ve written the damn songs themselves, and I was hoping that at least one good thing that would come out of that incident was that it would trigger some songwriting talent in that girl.

Maybe you’re right. Besides the 20/20 interview she did two weeks prior to her album release, those songs on her album revovled all around that incident. But what made me kind of upset was her wanting to be a voice all of a sudden. I understand it takes time to heel all wounds, but she sure as hell picked the perfect time if you know what I mean. That right there is what made me lose a ton of respect for her. Violence isn’t a joke. There are so many women walking the face of the planet, that are genuine about making a difference, and actually have a true story to tell. Her going about it the way she did just made violence look like a laughing stock.

I’m not a Rihanna hater but if GGGB which she re-released 3 additional times after the orginal release sold 7.5 million copies to this day even after being re-released over the course of 2 years what logic even makes you think that Rihanna would sell 25 million albums with her next release?
