New Video: Drake – ‘Miss Me (Ft. Lil Wayne)’

Published: Friday 20th Aug 2010 by Trent

The video for Drake’s ‘Miss Me (Ft. Lil Wayne)’ premiered moments ago. The clip for the track (which debuted at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100) was directed by Anthony Mandler. Peep the video below:

This was a good video. However, I wonder why this track was chosen as the new single instead of ‘Up All Night (Ft. Nicki Minaj)’? Certainly Drake wanted to release a single featuring his mentor but the Minaj collaboration is a much stronger song. Besides, with the hype surrounding both Drake and Minaj at the moment, it would have proven to be a guaranteed smash. O well.

  2. Chris August 20, 2010

I really like the Video!! Good Stuff, Drake!

  3. V August 20, 2010

Nooo this a stronger single, the Fancy vid was shot too and that’s even stronger than Miss Me and Up All Night

  4. EXPOSED August 20, 2010

D***** IDIOT HAS GOT TO BE THE WORSE SINGER/RAPPER IN THE WORLD!!!!!! THE SAME DAMN BEATS IN ALL HIS TRACKS. REMOVE THE DAMN BASS BEATS, HE’S ROSANNE BARR AT BEST – FOUR LETTER WORDS AND ALL, HAHA.

    WTF!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Tiff August 20, 2010

NOO I was hoping that he released Fancy before this one! grrr…

  6. Truthfully Speaking August 20, 2010

I’m not attracted to Drake at all…but the smile he flashed around 2:16 was so adorable.

  7. thekiddz August 20, 2010

This was hot! Damn, I didn’t know this song went this hard.

  8. ~TeAM WeeZY~ August 20, 2010

    That pic/single cover is FUGLY!

What was so good about this video, Trent? I thought is rather BLAH! I love me some Drake, but his body movements when he raps urks the hell out of me. And I’m surprised his hand wasn’t shaking sporadically like it usually does. And wtf is up with his facial expressions when he sings. Like dude you only singing one note, no need to sing ugly. But I still love him.

I love this song, but because they play it so much I’m sick of it. I always skip it when I listen to his album.

I prefer ‘Fancy’ over this song and the Nicki song. ‘Fancy’ goes SO HARD! That’s my ish! T.I. SLAYS his verse. Loves it!

@Truthfully speaking: I swear I was thinking the same thing when I seen it. I’m not attracted to him either, but that smile was so freaking CUTE!

  9. Love the way ya hate August 20, 2010

Na, this was the better choice, it’s a smash on radio here in the U.S.

  12. TheBaddestBitch August 20, 2010

    I hate this video.

  13. Tami August 20, 2010

So much better than the NIcki Colab…Like the video too. Keep killing them Drake

  14. ILOVEXTINA August 20, 2010

Why would Drake release ‘Up All Night’ when ‘Miss Me’ has charted way higher? It was smart to try to capitalize on that success.

  15. thekiddz August 20, 2010

    @ TEAM WEEZY

HAHA! I just thought he and Nicki Minaj were just hype. So I didn’t really pay attention to them. But, this song is really good. Nice melody, his flow was great. I wish he “sang” the chorus more, though. And LOL at Weezy: “Ewww…that’s nasty” My thoughts exactly!

  16. Tootie August 20, 2010

I understand where youre going Trent. But I just watched him on ustream and he said he did this video for Wayne. So I dont necessarily think it was meant for an official single. He also said ‘Fancy’ video was coming out soon. i think he should release the song with Nicki in the fall which is close her dropping of her album which means tons of promotion. So if he drop the Nicki song near her album dropping like Oct it would do better.

  17. Tootie August 20, 2010

Ok I just re read my comment I hope yall can understand it O.o ………. 😀

  18. (: August 20, 2010

If you saww the charts you would see the up all night was way higher than fancy so i think a video for up all night is a must

  19. S*** August 20, 2010

    Is this even worth watching??

Everything about Drake on down to his Looks are just AVG/OK.

  20. S*** August 20, 2010

& Lil wayne aint NO BETTER if you ask me…

Again, Is this even worth watching??

  21. Lady Gaga’s Invisble Twin Marty August 20, 2010

This video and “Over” are probably the best videos Anthony Mandler directed(well… to me at least.)

S/N: Drake really needs to stop doing that little jumpy dance he does when he raps. His music is not even all that hype to be doing all that.

  22. Waddie G. August 20, 2010

Drake is the most overexposed rapper since Jay-Z in 2001. Why buy his album where you can hear his songs all over the radio, cable TV channels and elsewhere? You can hear the album for free thanks to those avenues. He should slow down on those singles…and Nicki Minaj and her cameo appearances too.

  23. Geronimo Deuces August 20, 2010

I cant deny he is talented but ugly as hell…. id still pick cb over him

  24. Landen August 20, 2010

I Loved Every Second of this f***** Song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Esp When He speaks on Nicki and when Wayne

Comes in. His Boy Is Reppin Him Till He gets

out Big Time. Good Look Drizzy. And The Jumpin

Around Made the song. Hes into this like a Leonardo

Divinci is into his painting. Suck it HAters.

  25. Alex T August 20, 2010

The video was OK, not great. Nothing special about it. I agree about “Up All Night”. I listen to that song ALL the time. I hope they release it as a single eventually. There’s no question that this song is a hit though.

  26. Lioness August 20, 2010

its a PR move…to keep Weezy in the spotlight…smart move….they want hype when he gets out

  27. Mely B August 20, 2010

Agree with you about the collabo with Niki but maybe they’ll release that closer to her album release date. Also wish they’d release FIREWORKS but with A-Keys’ pending maternity leave that doesn’t seem likely. Anyway – the video is growing on me – the imagery of Drake morphing into Lil Wayne was interesting. So far the only video of his that I loved right out the box was FIND YOUR LOVE.

  28. Hannah August 20, 2010

Da vid was like shockin….. nd drake be looking crazy 2

  29. Drakeluver August 20, 2010
