It’s doesn’t matter to me how high her songs chart I think her dance music is genius.
And it being sorta underground / not that mainstreme only adds to her advantage for me.

I love you Karla. Your comment had me ROLLING!!! I would not have used those exact words but I agree whole heartedly. Sometimes I think these small-minded bloggers who throw unnecessary shade at Kelly, do it because they are mad that musically, Kelly is a notch above their faves. Kelly has already achieved longevity seeing as how her career has spanned nearly fifteen years(eight of which were spent as a SOLO artist), but she continues to make the type of music that CONSUMERS will want to hear and buy 5-10 years from now. She’s not your typical, trend of the moment, “singles” artist. She makes real music because she has real vocals and can pull off real music. People really think that if you’re not a Hot 100 artist then you’re not relevant; that couldn’t be further from the truth. Half the artists who are topping charts today, no one will be checking for five years from now. Not if they can’t reinvent themselves, and you can’t exactly reinvent yourself if you can’t even sing. Haters are mad because Kelly has what it takes to stay in this industry for as long as she wants to whether she’s dropping Hot 100 singles or not. She’s a legitimate TALENT who also happens to be one of the most gorgeous women in the industry, and she doesn’t even have to try that hard. Yeah, I understand why you’re mad.

Scenario 1.) If she rushes out an album that is wack, everyone is going to argue that she should have focused more on making better songs and getting better promotion. (Case in Point, Ms. Kelly – the album was solid, but the promotion was lack thereof…but in a pursuit to rush the album out, only to be met with poor sales, because the fans that were demanding the album didn’t even go to the store to buy it…things that make you go hmmmm)
Scenario 2.) If she focuses on producing the best possible album, with the best producers, now fans are going to get restless and transform their excitement to hate and negativity (case in point, a couple of the above comments), and lost interest in a potentially wonderful product.
Like i said before, Kelly is worth the wait. I am looking forward to an album that reflects her potential as a artist and is demonstrated by the song quality and performance that she is not only capable of, but deserving of. This girl has received the short-end of the stick so much (relative to her counterpart), that I am glad that she is enjoying making a solid album. So before you bring out the pitch-forks and torches, ask yourself, do you want a garbage album that was rushed out…or do you want a quality album that you can listen to repeatedly??? If your vote is like mine, I am willing to give her album the time it needs, because you get out what you put in…..TEAM KELLY 🙂
and sidenote: please don’t throw shade Teairra Mari either…she’s a hella-talented underdog like your’s truly, and if people give her ample listen they will find her as enjoyable as another individual who runs the billboards.
I see Kelly still has that child-like personality. Based on the her interviews, i’ve come to conclusion that Kelly has no idea how a hit record sounds, nor does know the process involved in crafting a hit record. I wish her luck.
