New Song: Faith Evans – ‘Can’t Stay Away (Ft. Keyshia Cole)’

Published: Wednesday 29th Sep 2010 by Trent

A new track from Faith Evans and Keyshia Cole surfaced today. ‘Can’t Stay Away’ is the duet that fans of the duo have been anticipating since it was revealed on Evans’ ‘Something About Faith’ LP’s tracklisting. Give it a listen below:

Though not the type of song I was expecting, this was still an enjoyable track. Neither singer overwhelmed the other and they Notorious B.I.G. sample was quite inventive. Still, I am yet to hear anything from Evans’ album that has wowed me. Hopefully this isn’t the best that the record has to offer.

Faith’s album is so damn boring based on the snippets i’ve heard. I really wanted it to sound good because R&B is dying.

    This was a wasted opportunity….
They could have made something better than this…

  15. theman1 September 29, 2010

They should have did something like Trust’. This is so average.

  16. theman1 September 29, 2010

Faith has a great voice and Keyshia sounds really good here.

  17. Robier September 29, 2010

    Hmmmmm

I kinda like this but the production is holding it back – as it seems to be doing on all the songs I’ve heard from the album so far. I hope the rest of the album is better produced than this otherwise imma have to go back to blasting out “The First Lady” (which was exquisitely produced).

I must say I liked the Biggie interpolation, that was cute 🙂

She needs to scrap this album completely, she’s gonna flop so hard, and i think with her being on an independent label, it’ll make it hard to recover. Theres literally only one single on this album that’ll get airplay and thats more than likely UrbanAc airplay. Faith is a great singer, but this album is terrible, it’s bland, nothing is catchy nor radio friendly, and it all seems like demo tracks.

  21. Rene September 29, 2010

    Is this a joke?

    This sounds unfinished, unmastered, cheap.

    The lyrics are ….

    NEXT.

  22. theman1 September 29, 2010

It feels rushed uninspiring and lost. I don’t know what she expects to do with this.

  23. ilikemango September 29, 2010

i love this song! on some different sound type s#it
    *keyshia part rock

  24. MR. STILL STANDING September 29, 2010

    The productions ruins it.

  25. antertain September 29, 2010

mmmmmm i still love Faith but for such artists as her & Keyshia they should brought it with there power vocal game.

Keyshia did sound very good on it but the song kinda bland..

When two power vocalists are on a track i need to be feeling some raw energy and SANGING..

Whitney & Deborah C**, Brandy & Monica, Jennifer Hudson & Fantasia, Coko, Faith, Lil Mo & Fantasia, Whitney & Mariah, Monica & Keyshia Cole etc….

JUST BRING IT & SHOW OF THE GREAT VOCAL POTENTIALS, because otherwise sounds like a waste

  26. Mely B September 29, 2010

This is just very “ok”. The busy production overshadows their voices – agreed, this is a waste of their voices.

I’m still buying the album because it’s Faith and I’m sure that there will be more tracks that I love than not.

  27. Baleia September 29, 2010

Interesting vocals. @mely b agree 2. the production overshadows two powerful voices. The faith album needs to be mixed again.

  28. Christian September 29, 2010

    It’s okay

  29. Areis September 29, 2010

from gone already to this…..What that hell was that faith….. after hearing this song i just lost my faith in you, something is really off about this song and the production sounds Horrible its really sad that you have talent but let yourself go…. now wonder why Mary J. Blige took the throne that you could have had back in the day.

  30. Yan September 29, 2010

Love Faith & Keyshia but, this is wack! :/

  31. Gray September 30, 2010

I read the comments before I listened to the song was laughing hard because I was like…wow…not Faith. After listening to the song, I have to agree with most of the posters and say…YAWN! I am not impressed….go back to the basics…PLEASE!

  32. Very disappointed Fan September 30, 2010

Y’all I have been a faith evans fan from day one she was always underrated to me but I’m not not feeling not one sample of the songs I have heard. They sound cheap and demo throw away like tracks you don’t go away and come back almost 6 years later with garbage like this the only song that’s decent is “Gone Already” Other than that the people in her camp need to stop lying to her and stop the release of this album before she loses what little fans she have left

  33. seneca September 30, 2010

    love it
