With Jazmine Sullivan currently putting the finishing touches to her sophomore LP ‘Love Me Back’ (due November), the set’s second single has surfaced. Titled ’10 Seconds’, the soulful mid-tempo is the aptest of follow-up’s to its predecessor ‘Holding You Down’.

Yet another ‘home-run’ for the J Records star. If I had one niggle, though, it be that the production sounds awfully similar to much of Sullivan’s previous material. However, when the quality is so high, the material just can’t be faulted. Bring on that album!

Holding You Down is ZOOMING up the R&B charts. It should be #1 on urban radio in a few weeks. It’s TOP 10 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts and #71 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I love Jasmine she is always bringing something different to the table and I hope that people out there get her. Unfornuately, we all know that all the real good singers never get the attention that they deserve. But I am crossing my fingers…love you Jas…You still #1 in my book!

I love Jazzy…my issue with most of her mainstream stuff is that she always sings in the higher range. Her underground material was better in my opinion. Songs like ‘Round Midnight’ and ‘Hook on you’ were great because she was able to use her lower register which she has soooooooo much control over. So when she sings songs like this it seems a little forced. It doesn’t sound bad, but when you know where she really shines, this makes me wince a little. Still a great song none the less
@Tendaji, WOW! I do agree- Plus both of the songs that you mentioned happen to be my FAVORITE songs by Jaz. But she is sooo TALENTED, and her last cd was one of those “put on and let it paly” type of cds and I love that fact. Good Luck Mz. Jaz
