    *SO HATERS WILL KNOW!

THIS ISNT TYLER PERRY’S PLAY OR STORY! ITS A HISTORIC PLAY FROM THE 70S!

    ANYWHO.

ITS A MUTHAFUCKIN WRAP! THEY ALL LOOK LIKE THEY CAN GET AN OSCAR BY THE TRAILER ALONE! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS S***!

  2. Yours Truley September 15, 2010

  5. Bobby D September 15, 2010

    sweeet!

  6. the kiddz September 15, 2010

I can’t stand Tyler Perry. Just reinforcing the stereotypes about black folk.

  7. PLAIN AND SIMPLE September 15, 2010

I can’t wait to see this movie

  8. Diane September 15, 2010

Oh woo, it’s another movie about the CNN black women who are struggling through this life and showing their warrior strength. Guess how many tears will be shed and how many frozen faces we will see. Oh chile, Oh lawd, Oh mercy, Oh me. Why, lawd, why?

Oh Tyler, was this ’70s remake necessary? It was a groundbreaking play 40 years ago when bread cost 15 cents, but is it necessary today, regardless of how true? Have you created anything original for the big screen? I refuse to look and listen to this movie because I don’t want to jinx an onslaught of copy cats.

  9. JANE BUT NOT TARZAN’S B**** September 15, 2010

I have NO DOUBT this movie will be an INSULT to the greatness of the original Broadway play but at least Tyler helps to keep black actors in Hollywood employed (eye roll)

  10. Dane September 15, 2010

    U dumb black fools…shut up…

  11. idrag4mj September 15, 2010

this movie was so emtionally charged i wanted to tear up by watching it!! i feel janet is still letting out grief of mj in her roles!! they working for her!..janet must definitely wins a lot of accolades for this role

  12. deeee September 15, 2010

    wow… i was so… enraptured… damn

  13. SparkD September 15, 2010

Wow! Very dramatic. I want to see the 1970s play, and I wonder what Mariah’s role would have been like if she played Thandie’s part. I usually hate to see Thandie and African-American roles because of her accent, and it appears forced, but his looks pretty good.

  14. SparkD September 15, 2010

oops…typo…I meant “Thandie in African-American roles”….and “this looks pretty good.”

  15. raraskils September 15, 2010

wow this trailer looks oscar-worthy….but lets just hope its one of tyler perry’s better films and not one of those that tries to be groundbreaking and in the end falls flat. =P

  16. raraskils September 15, 2010

and i love Thandie Newton! <3

  17. Trina September 15, 2010

Looks like a very strong movie !! I can smell the awards from my kitchen !!

  18. Daniel September 15, 2010

    GARBAGE

  19. phard September 15, 2010

wow wow wow wasnt expecting that at all. I figured it would look like all his other movies (and I know he didnt write the script but he did direct the movie).

  20. black September 15, 2010

i love tyler perry but if he f*** up this play that i love for years, its over for him..i wont support. and looking from the trailer, its not going to be a good film.

  21. BENJAMIN September 15, 2010

    Looks like a must see.

  22. TresChic September 15, 2010

Hey…this looks good. I dont like Tyler Perry’s previous work because it just shames the race and is a rehash of previous successful films based on African Americans (waiting to exhale + color purple, what’s love got to do with it) But if he didn’t write it, im sure it’ll be great! 😀

  23. kellz September 15, 2010

    loooooooooool @ Treschic

  24. Rated R September 15, 2010

I LOVE IT!! JANET SLAYS EVEN IN MOVIE TRAILERS

  25. Kicktheeardrum September 15, 2010

  26. Miss Chick Boom September 15, 2010

Not really a fan of Tyler Perry but I’m actually looking forward to this movie.

  27. Miss Chick Boom September 15, 2010

Also why doesn’t Janet have an Oscar yet and Madonna does when that BISH can’t even act.

  28. Kenny September 15, 2010

LMAO @ DIANE, “Oh chile, Oh lawd, Oh mercy, Oh me. Why, lawd, why?”

  29. T September 15, 2010

Its about time Ms. Rashad gets some spotlight!

  30. JT September 15, 2010

    OSCAR-WORTHY? ARE YOU PEOPLE RETARDED?

NOTICE THERE’S BARELY ANY DIALOGUE IN THIS TRAILER, OR A HINT OF ANY PLOT?

    THERE’S A REASON, MORONS: IT’S MORE TYLER PERRY S***.

  31. Alex September 15, 2010

Wow this looks like a spinoff from Precious the way its shot and the way it looks. Not shading it but i really wanna see it it looks good

  32. d September 15, 2010

madonna dont have an oscar she has a golden globe for evita luckly she had no dialogue in that film, but Janet show us in WDIGM2 that she has more than 5 ranges of emotion that she can pull from and she can Cry so well

  33. the kiddz September 15, 2010

OMG! I can’t believe I didn’t notice the song playing during the trailer. Nina Simone: Four Women. Magical phrasing and the song has a strong message.

  34. the kiddz September 15, 2010

Even though that’s not Nina singing…I can dig it

  35. True Diva September 15, 2010

Wooowww…. I’m so excited about this movie!!! Tyler Perry suppose to be coming to my city with his play on Sept. 29th & I’m going, I am so excited to see him live!!!

  36. Quiana September 15, 2010

    it looks good i guess.

  37. JANE BUT NOT TARZAN’S B**** September 15, 2010

    @MISS CHICK BOOM

Madonna DOES NOT have an Oscar. She has a GOLDEN GLOBE.

  38. Nadirah September 15, 2010

Y’all chanting oscar worthy and the sh-t ain’t even tell us anything, yet.

I hope this isn’t one of those films that tries to be deep but really is about NATHAN.

I’m not a fan of TP films.

  39. Fatima September 15, 2010

I HATE Tyler Perry movies but he didn’t WRITE this one which means all the difference. This is a historic play and unless he’s like magically bad, he can’t make it a complete dud. He still doesn’t have a director’s eye, but his TERRIBLE TERRIBLE writing is always his main problem. Expect this to be a lot better than you’re used to from him. And then hopefully he’ll stop churning out awful scripts like a factory.

  40. question September 15, 2010

why are janets eyes so lyte in this pic
    Is that for the role?

  41. KD September 15, 2010

Great…not another Tyler Perry movie. If you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all: Overacting, over-exaggeration etc.

  42. Andre Le Dale September 15, 2010

After this role and if Janet decides to keep acting she has to switch things up because this role reminds me of WDIGM2. I would love to see her in a romantic comedy or action flick, hell even a voice over project lol.

  43. omzir September 15, 2010

okay sorry what was this about? they all got good skin though… and strong cast.

  44. SD September 15, 2010

    MellowDramatic.

  45. jmoore September 15, 2010

Yess this movie looks like it is gonna be good..Miss Jackson is killing it in red!

  46. Stoney-Brie September 15, 2010

i have to read the book.. i don know what the film’s about too..

    but it looks good!

  47. amazing September 15, 2010

Firstly, there are so many damn women who can’t act (janet jackson, macy gray) in this damn movie that an “oscar buzz” is overhyped! Tyler Perry is so damn dramatic, if I have to watch one more damn movie about a battered black woman…I don’t even understand what the f*** the movie is about through this trailer. Mariah saved herself by pullilng out of this movie because it looks like a cast full of rejects that haven’t done a movie in years (a good one at least), and that no one wants to see in a movie either. Cluster f***** mess!

  48. royalkev September 15, 2010

TP films are a bit draining, but I believe he deserves a little more consideration and objectivity, here . You people should stop acting like you don’t get a kick out of Medea. It’s light hearted fun! Sure, some of his films are predictable and unreasonable – but, don’t put one down before giving it a chance. These women in this film are real actors capable of delivering very moving, powerful and emotional scenes. From the looks of the trailer it seems like their all doing their job, superbly! I’m happy to see Janet in a 2nd film this year. I hope this manages to live up to all the Oscar buzz it’s getting.

  49. lilka September 15, 2010

amazing you are ignorant hater theses women can act not you lol this is just a trailer so calm down wait until the movie come out

  50. terence September 15, 2010

i cant wait 4 the movie ppl r entitled to their opinion unless u r directing movies ppl should keep their opinion to themselves! i think tyler will do a great job he is sticking to the orignial broadway play and as long as the creator of colored girls is satisfied thats all that matter! ppl r so negative just see it for what it is a movie! live ur life and keep it moving! ppl r a trip!

  51. B September 15, 2010

So excited for this!!! Can’t wait til November 5th!!!!! All the ladies look amazing and Miss Jackson is givin me everything with that red!!!!

  52. Kay September 15, 2010

    sooooooo excited about this one

  53. dboy September 15, 2010

wow amazing more than half the people that came here to view the trailer on its first day of release aren’t tyler fans, then what are you, trailer fans?

  54. Nika September 15, 2010

Can’t wait to see this one. Normally not a Tyler Perry movie fan BUT this looks interesting..

  55. Simply Phillip Brown September 15, 2010

Alright! I can’t wait for this one!

  56. TWITTER.COM/SEAN_THEPROBLEM September 15, 2010

LOL@ ANYONE SAYING THIS IS A MELLOW DRAMA!

    HUN DO YOUR RESEARCH!

LOL@ PEOPLE SAYING THIS ROLE IS LIKE JANET’S WDIGMT? ROLE!
HA HA HA HA HA HA

  57. TJ September 15, 2010

its wierd that Janet seems to be getting the most praise, just based off the trailer, when in all honesty she doesnt really stand out too much. Thandie Newton looks like she’s gonna steal the show, but howver, i aint hatin. anything where black people are showing out talents and working, im down. I will be supporting this !

  58. Spunkypoop September 15, 2010

I can’t wait to see this movie!!!! GO JANET GO JANET!!!! It looks very emotional and powerful. ALl my favorite balck female actresses all in one movie, spells HIT to me!

  59. lmsar September 15, 2010

SHHEESH IS NOBODY TYLER PERRY FANS THESE DAYS LOL

  60. Wake Up Six September 15, 2010

Sooo out of curiosity what Role was Mariah supposed to play?

  61. Christian September 15, 2010

    I’m definitely gonna see that.

  62. 22daydreamers September 15, 2010

Whoopi Goldberg is going to cut up. Lets see if she adds to her collection of oscars, grammys, tonys…

  63. SOSICCWITSWAGGA September 15, 2010

    excited to see it

  64. piat September 15, 2010

This play has special meaning to me since it is the first play my mother ever brought me to see. Tyler better do a good job. Even though Michael Ealy will be in the role of a bum, I still loves me some Teacake (Their Eyes Were Watching God) aka Ricky ( Barbershop 1 & 2) aka Jake Attica (Takers).

  65. LUV-LEE September 15, 2010

    JANET IS THE QUEEN!!!

All haters kindly F*** OFF!!! Thanks. 😀

  66. OKAY September 15, 2010

Janet Jackson is a legend but she is NOT the best actress in the roster. Yall really need to stop hyping her up. It’s an insult to the other women who have been acting for decades and specifically trained to become actresses. It’s the same way people kept talking about Chris Brown in Takers and completely forgot the more talented actors.

Being good at music doesn’t make an artist good at acting. Get over yourselves folks!!!

  67. FLOPnetFLOPson September 15, 2010

Do the people who are discussing “oscar” know that Tyler Perry adapted the play HIMSELF……oh yes he did…..
And putting Janet Jackson flopping ass front and center WILL NOT attract viewers nor will it generate the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Tyler Perry should have made the smart decision and placed Angela Bassett somewhere in this movie. THEN people would be taking it seriously.

  68. Leandrew September 16, 2010

Tyler Perry just doing what he do! Nothing but the best star studded cast!

  69. DUNK September 16, 2010

At least Tyler isn’t promoting Gangster movies like Boy’s in the hood, Menace 2 Society,
He shows the black struggle in other lights then just us being gang bangers! Without Tyler Perry movies who else would tell our story?? Not saying Janet is the best actress in the line up, but give the woman credit she has been acting since 79′.

Still she isn’t carrying the movie.

  70. E.Glenn October 25, 2010

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THE MOVIE. IM SURE IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT ONE AS TYLER HIMSELF IS. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO!!!!!!!

  71. The Brilliant October 28, 2010

NOBODY CARES THAT TYLER PERRY DIDNT WRITE IT ! SHUTUP !!! HOW BOUT ALL OF YOU IDIOTS TRY TO DO THIS AND KEEP THE INTERGRITY OF THE PLAY ! I SWEAR YOU ARE ALL IGNORANT CLOSE MINDED FOOLS IF YOU THINK THIS WAS A MISTAKE !! EVEN IF THE MOVIE DOSENT GO WELL SHOULDENT OUR NEW GENERATION KNOW THE STORY ? SHOULDENT WEE KEEP IT AROUND ? BRING IT BACK TO LIFE ?
    PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK !

  72. Pimp_Ly July 21, 2011

This movie/play willremain the biggest of any time, wanna know why? Because it brings you face to face with your feelings and thoughts in the past, the present, or the future. It reminds me that I am a person with valid feelings and I need to stand up for myself or live with regret about never having done anything to turn it all around. Thanks Tyler!
