Enter Jessie J. The British-bred singer-songwriter first made a name for herself on Youtube where she notched up millions of views, before being snapped up by Universal Music in the US.
An ‘artist’ in every sense of the word, J’s most notable writing credit is the one Miley Cyrus song we’re ‘allowed’ to like, ‘Party In The USA’. Interestingly, the song was meant to be J’s Stateside debut (lyrically addressing her move from the UK to US). However she instead decided to give the song to Cyrus – who went on to have a major hit with it. A potentially great move, if J’s new single is anything to go by.

With its pulsating production (a Rock, Hip-Hop, and Pop fusion), the song goes hard! My initial worries about the busy production stripping her vocals of their trademark rawness, quickly evaporated – with all components of the track (beat, vocal delivery, and whatnot) meshing together well to serve up a hit-in-waiting. Talk about a home-run on first swing!

I just youtubed his chick and her voice is annoying! It seems like she’s all attitude but no vocal control. Her voice is all over the place. She has a big voice and thinks she knows what she’s doing with it, but she’s doing it all wrong. She definitely needs vocal lessons. She can sing, but needs LOTS OF HELP! She’s yelling way too much. This song is iight, but it does sound like something Rihanna would do. Her image also needs help and her personality seems very ghetto and yes anybody from any country can act the slang term, ghetto especially if they’re really into being hard and hip-hop.

The music industry is full of fakes people like rhianna making themselves into something to fit the criteria of the world today and what people expect them to be. People like jason derulo hiding behind the autotune (although this track is autotuned, watch her youtube in no way does she need it) because when they sing live they are really not all they seem to be. Jessie is jessie and you love her or hate her. Her personality shines through on her yotube videos and through her music. She isn’t pretending she isn’t putting on her act her lyrics are true her voice is incredibly individual and she has fun! this puts her above and rhianna and other people she has been compared to on here. if people are already critising her voice and personality you have been sucked into the dark, gloomy and very fake world that is called the music industy and it sucks if your going to compare jessie to anyone compare her to chakka khan, stevie wonder the people who did their tracks in one take didn’t have effects on their voice because those are the people who are real…just like jessie well done for bringing the music industy back to reality!!!

jessie is doing a tour this month. she starts this saturday at Coalition in Brighton then on the 17th she is at the Unit (Dirty Pop Club Night) in Southampton then she goes up to Bristol thekla in bristol on the 18th then on the 19th she goes to manchester to sing at the night and day and i think she goes to glasgow either on the 20th or 21st at the abc2. so she’s quite a busy girl around christmas time so its good opportunity to she her live and show support for 1 of Britain’s finest :):):)
