Okay, the video gives me a hugeee vibe of Diva from Beyoncé, but we won’t discuss that. This video isn’t what I expected. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but it was too extra for me. Melina is the director of the clip of course their will be similarites to her other videos. Melina has done Diva, Work, Hard, Go Girl, Rude Boy, Rockstar 101, Why Don’t You Love Me, Put it in a love song and many more. They all give off a similar vibe and intros thats just how Melina works. Nothing in this video is reminscent of anything janet though….seriously some of you are reaching just trying to discredit Ciara not realizing that your also discrediting the Director, Dancers, Choregraphers, all the crew that worked hard to put the set together.
Okay, she did borrow some thangs from a few divas, but who doesn’t these days. It’s called inspiration, you borrow from the best and make it your own. Any who, Ciara rocked this ish like crazy! It’s been long justified and generally accepted that Ciara can work it hard. This video reinforces that fact. Some parts were expected and others were somewhat more interesting (though still somewhat expected.) The choreography and concept is along the alley of Ciara’s style anyway so it was great to see her so natural and dynamic doing what she does best.
Obviously the video is not official, heck, you can still see the green screen sometimes.
The only problem I had was that despite it being an overall enjoyable video, it still made me expect more (probably because I had high expectations.) Not in a “oh it’s super awesome I can’t wait for more” kind of way, but more like “oh, it’s over already?” kind of way. I’m not trying to throw her shade or hate on her, but I guess I’d be lying if I were to say I didn’t feel slightly disappointed.
On a funnier (to me, at least) note, I was also wondering throughout the warehouse scenes whether Melina had recommended Ciara to shoot the video at the same location that Beyonce shot Diva. No, I’m not saying Ciara ripped Beyonce off, just thought that the setting seemed disturbingly familiar, what with the strobing lights scene and all. Haha. Nevertheless, you have to give her props for keeping it real.

Promise is still by far her best song and video. Everything about Ciara is so damn basic, her songs are average (with the exception of a few), her videos are alright and her voice is the pits. Her only redeeming feature is her dancing. BASIC Instinct is shaping up to be another average album from her. I do like this video though, song is decent too.

It’s not easy to pull off a young Janet Jackson, at this time it is not easy for Janet to pull off a rhythm nation move and for as Beyonce whom I love we will see next year what she got for us.
Ciara did very, very good pulling those dance moves off, I can’t think of a young artist her age or younger that can pull those dance routines off so good. You go to be limber, flexible and energetic, and most of all you got to have good coordination, you got to be able to walk with out falling, especially in those home made ghetto hooker snickers she was wearing.

I really didn’t know that Ciara had so many haters. I don’t see how anyone can look at what she has to offer and compare that to Rihanna and find her to be less talented. That’s the strangest thing I’ve heard in a while. Cici(as well as Janet) is one of the best dancers in the industry, Bey is one of the best singers out now! They’re all great video makers and have tons of stage presence. What is Rihanna best at?
The Bey comparisons are a little off, because Diva looks nothing like this. Bey was sassy and fiesty. Ciara is all high energy from start to finish with this video. The only thing they have in common is that it’s done in warehouses.
The Janet comparisons are a little more reasonable. I see some Pleasure Principle, but it just has a small element of what worked for Janet in that video(which is mainly her dancing solo in certain parts). This video overall just doesn’t have the same vibe.
It mostly reminded me of Aaliyah. That wasn’t until way towards the end. It actually was nice to see the belt wrapped around her for a shirt and the hair and make-up (general style) looking so similar to baby girl. I thought that was a great touch.
I see nothing wrong with this video. It’s up there with Promise and a few of her best!

The dancing was good. She is always going to be good at that. That is automatic. The song just doesn’t do it for me. I hope she comes with something better than that song. The video is alright though.

I definitely agree with the statement “Video of the Year,”… for now. I want to see what Beyonce has in store first, but yes for the moment Ciara has the best video out right now and definitely deserves a lot of credit. Finally Little Miss CiCi is back!
Sidenote: It’s a good thing she did step them cookies up, b/c for a while there I thought she was fixing to go unnoticed again with this album. I wish she had released “Gimmie Dat” and that haters song first. I get that Ciara is trying to be different and switch things up with the slower songs, but she lowered the hype for the album with the first couple of singles and videos.

You guys are funny. As a Janet STAN who has one eye open for Ciara, I can say that this video was…well…a little disappointing after the teaser. It is always great to see her dance and I loved the replicas and the stepping but was left wanting at the end. Perhaps she needs a new choreographer. Someone who can take what she does well and expand it/make it fresh and new.

I swear, people are so quick to praise or hype up some music artist over nothing! Ciara has always been overrated when it came to dancing. This video was wack as hell! I seriously skipped through the whole thing to see something innovative, unique, and amazing and I just saw the same booty popping, southern crunk, stripper, ghetto dance moves that she’s been doing her whole “career”! Are y’all f**king serious? It amazes me how people act like she’s the greatest dancer! Janet has fallen off and her moves were always very technical, but Ciara can’t even channel her idol, she’s not even half as good Janet. And she looked mighty muscular and masculine in this video, especially with that hat on. Ciara is one ugly a** female. There’s nothing sexy about her. It’s so obvious that she tries so hard to be sexy and pretty but she’s not. I can’t stand Ciara’s untalented a**, but HER BEST VIDEO WAS “GET UP!” Those dance moves were pretty good and I loved the setting of the video and her outfit. i really like the video. But I was kind shocked at the end when ciara was dancing with the multiple of herself b/c she looked so skinny. It was kind of scary. I like the video. BUT. She could’ve used different dancestyle, something refreshing. Like salsa, samba, african, or jazz style. That is why Mya and Beyonce always appear to be innovative. Beyonce did samba, arabic, and african dance. She she shows her versatility.
Ciara needs to try that as well. Even Janet Jackson did the indian dance in one of her vids. Michael Jackson did the egyptian dance. Etc. So if Ciara wants to be truly recognised for her dancing skills she needs to venture into different dance styles other than Hiphop.
Very impressive video, I enjoyed it. It had elements of Janet in it for sure, but she wasn’t copying Beyonce like some of you all are saying, if anything, Beyonce copies her. But the song is just ok, not exactly radio friendly. I still don’t know about this album.

Um, it was okay. Nothing special. The dancing was really good, of course.
I don’t like the song, though. And I don’t think the video will help it’s success.
I don’t think this is better than ‘Get up’ or ‘Like A Boy’. It’s not even better than ’1, 2 step’ or ‘Oh’ IMO. But I think ‘Promise’ will probably always and forever be my favorite song and video by her.
Anyway, it’s just not looking good for Ciara. The music, promotion, and videos are all looking like a ‘Basic Instinct’ flop.

Okay, the video gives me a hugeee vibe of Diva from Beyoncé, but we won’t discuss that. This video isn’t what I expected. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but it was too extra for me. Hmmm this isn’t the version I seen a week ago pretty much same instrumental but i think the other was longer and in HD. Maybe the one I saw was the final edit or maybe this is the final edit.
Melina is the director of the clip of course their will be similarites to her other videos. Melina has done Diva, Work, Hard, Go Girl, Rude Boy, Rockstar 101, Why Don’t You Love Me, Put it in a love song and many more. They all give off a similar vibe and intros thats just how Melina works. Nothing in this video is reminscent of anything janet though….seriously some of you are reaching just trying to discredit Ciara not realizing that your also discrediting the Director, Dancers, Choregraphers, all the crew that worked hard to put the set together.

It’s been long justified and generally accepted that Ciara can work it hard. This video reinforces that fact. Some parts were expected and others were somewhat more interesting (though still somewhat expected.) The choreography and concept is along the alley of Ciara’s style anyway so it was great to see her so natural and dynamic doing what she does best.
Obviously the video is not official, heck, you can still see the green screen sometimes.
The only problem I had was that despite it being an overall enjoyable video, it still made me expect more (probably because I had high expectations.) Not in a “oh it’s super awesome I can’t wait for more” kind of way, but more like “oh, it’s over already?” kind of way. I’m not trying to throw her shade or hate on her, but I guess I’d be lying if I were to say I didn’t feel slightly disappointed.
On a funnier (to me, at least) note, I was also wondering throughout the warehouse scenes whether Melina had recommended Ciara to shoot the video at the same location that Beyonce shot Diva. No, I’m not saying Ciara ripped Beyonce off, just thought that the setting seemed disturbingly familiar, what with the strobing lights scene and all. Haha. Nevertheless, you have to give her props for keeping it real.

Promise is still by far her best song and video. Everything about Ciara is so damn basic, her songs are average (with the exception of a few), her videos are alright and her voice is the pits. Her only redeeming feature is her dancing. BASIC Instinct is shaping up to be another average album from her. I do like this video though, song is decent too.

btw i wonder how many of you notice their are two different versions of the leaked video?….One where she dances to the left of the car the other she dances on the right, her and the guy dance on the left side of the screen instead of the right, when she slides under the guys one is left to right the other is right to left and their spins instead of being counterclockwise are clockwise. Both still have the green screen in the background tho…this definately isn’t the final which means the one I saw last week is.

It’s not easy to pull off a young Janet Jackson, at this time it is not easy for Janet to pull off a rhythm nation move and for as Beyonce whom I love we will see next year what she got for us.
Ciara did very, very good pulling those dance moves off, I can’t think of a young artist her age or younger that can pull those dance routines off so good. You go to be limber, flexible and energetic, and most of all you got to have good coordination, you got to be able to walk with out falling, especially in those home made ghetto hooker snickers she was wearing.
I love Ciara and I am impress with her dancing skills.

This woman was showing her ass! She really slayyyyed this time! The clip before had me thinking this was going to be Rhythm Nation pt2. I’m glad to see that it wasn’t. Ofcourse, she reminded me of Janet, but most of this was new and that’s why it’s was so refreshing. I loved every minute of it. It’s really like I’ve been saying for a while, Cici is taking back her rightful place in this industry. It’s not many on her level and some that are shouldn’t be! That’s all going to change in 2011.

I really didn’t know that Ciara had so many haters. I don’t see how anyone can look at what she has to offer and compare that to Rihanna and find her to be less talented. That’s the strangest thing I’ve heard in a while. Cici(as well as Janet) is one of the best dancers in the industry, Bey is one of the best singers out now! They’re all great video makers and have tons of stage presence. What is Rihanna best at?
The Bey comparisons are a little off, because Diva looks nothing like this. Bey was sassy and fiesty. Ciara is all high energy from start to finish with this video. The only thing they have in common is that it’s done in warehouses.
The Janet comparisons are a little more reasonable. I see some Pleasure Principle, but it just has a small element of what worked for Janet in that video(which is mainly her dancing solo in certain parts). This video overall just doesn’t have the same vibe.
It mostly reminded me of Aaliyah. That wasn’t until way towards the end. It actually was nice to see the belt wrapped around her for a shirt and the hair and make-up (general style) looking so similar to baby girl. I thought that was a great touch.
I see nothing wrong with this video. It’s up there with Promise and a few of her best!

I don’t get why folks love to dig out their asses and compare shit that doesn’t even match or resemble each other. As far as the Bey “Diva”, I only saw it when she was walking into the warehouse, but that’s not the first time it was done. There’s nothing Aaliyah about this video because Aaliyah couldn’t dance.
As far as this video, it’s about damn time she goes back to dancing. She KILLED the hell out of that routine. I can’t wait to see the finished video. This is definitely one of my favorite videos of the year.

i liked the ending, with her dancing with all her replicas.
aside from that, this is an average cici video.
purely dancing, using all her trademark moves, and the rain reminds me of her video for Get Up, while the dancing in the cellar idea she already used many times, like for example in her Go Girl video.

The video was cool.. The steppying parts were really dope. But some of the other stuff is kinda weird and forced. She never gets it right all the way for me. But i hope it does well for her. Its jus her songs on this album arent that strong so i don’t see this album being a hit for her.

Okay, I saw soo much here:
1) I liked how she literally took it back to when she used to do the matrix dance move and when she first came on the scene with the light brown hair.
2) I kinda saw a lil bit of diva with the lil warehouse scene which wasn’t a good look especially since Bee stans are always coming at CiCi
3) The dancing was off the hook as always. You can’t take that from her; she’s a beast in that department. Hands down!!!
4) If she was paying homage to Aaliyah, then I’m happy, but if she was just stomp down just swagga jackin’ her, then that’s not cool.
5) I liked how she fused the cd cover with the last scene. That was cool
All in all, it was a pretty good video.

I definitely agree with the statement “Video of the Year,”… for now. I want to see what Beyonce has in store first, but yes for the moment Ciara has the best video out right now and definitely deserves a lot of credit. Finally Little Miss CiCi is back!
Sidenote: It’s a good thing she did step them cookies up, b/c for a while there I thought she was fixing to go unnoticed again with this album. I wish she had released “Gimmie Dat” and that haters song first. I get that Ciara is trying to be different and switch things up with the slower songs, but she lowered the hype for the album with the first couple of singles and videos.

You guys are funny. As a Janet STAN who has one eye open for Ciara, I can say that this video was…well…a little disappointing after the teaser. It is always great to see her dance and I loved the replicas and the stepping but was left wanting at the end. Perhaps she needs a new choreographer. Someone who can take what she does well and expand it/make it fresh and new.
I hope the song does well but I have the sneaking suspicion that gay clubs and cheerleaders/dance teams/j-setters will be the only ones checking for it.

I swear, people are so quick to praise or hype up some music artist over nothing! Ciara has always been overrated when it came to dancing. This video was wack as hell! I seriously skipped through the whole thing to see something innovative, unique, and amazing and I just saw the same booty popping, southern crunk, stripper, ghetto dance moves that she’s been doing her whole “career”! Are y’all f**king serious? It amazes me how people act like she’s the greatest dancer! Janet has fallen off and her moves were always very technical, but Ciara can’t even channel her idol, she’s not even half as good Janet. And she looked mighty muscular and masculine in this video, especially with that hat on. Ciara is one ugly a** female. There’s nothing sexy about her. It’s so obvious that she tries so hard to be sexy and pretty but she’s not. I can’t stand Ciara’s untalented a**, but HER BEST VIDEO WAS “GET UP!” Those dance moves were pretty good and I loved the setting of the video and her outfit. I agree with you Lola 1,000 per cent. Its the same recycled garbage and I don’t see what the hype is all about. She has the same look and dance moves in every video. There was nothing creative about this. As you said, the song is horrible and the video just made it worst.
I really like the kid and I want her to do well, but at this point, she needs to either assemble a new team to revamp her music, and choreography or just retire from the business and focus on modeling and acting, because this right here aint working out for her.

I like the video. BUT. She could’ve used different dancestyle, something refreshing. Like salsa, samba, african, or jazz style. That is why Mya and Beyonce always appear to be innovative. Beyonce did samba, arabic, and african dance. She she shows her versatility.
Ciara needs to try that as well. Even Janet Jackson did the indian dance in one of her vids. Michael Jackson did the egyptian dance. Etc. So if Ciara wants to be truly recognised for her dancing skills she needs to venture into different dance styles other than Hiphop.

Very impressive video, I enjoyed it. It had elements of Janet in it for sure, but she wasn’t copying Beyonce like some of you all are saying, if anything, Beyonce copies her. But the song is just ok, not exactly radio friendly. I still don’t know about this album.

I believe that some ppl were born to dance and some were taught to dance.. By me being a dancer that was born to do it u can tell between the ones who learned and the ones who were born.. with that being said This girl was born to do it.. unlike ppl such ass Beyonce who was taught.
