Shontelle and Keri Hilson? That’s the best they could do to inspire these young girls and give them confidence? f****** fail?

Where are the two most noted and powerful female acts of today at… by that I meant Beyonce and Rihanna? That would have given the show the umpth it needed.

s*** where was Ashanti and Ciara at? Fail.

It’s fine that they couldn’t get big names but they could’ve at least added Melanie Fiona, Jazmine Sullivan Chrisette Michelle and Janelle Monae to give the show more ummpphh.

Don’t be mad at them. They probably invited Beyonce and Rihanna’s asses but they just didn’t want to show up. You’d all be surprised because alotttttttttt of these shows have to pay these b****** and arm and a leg just to make a brief appearance.

How sad that this show was to pay tribute to black women and the most powerful women of that group couldn’t even show up. It may have not been the Grammys but it was a show that deserved support from the black women who’ve earned MILLIONS from other black women watching the program

Black Girls Rock is not about getting the most famous people to represent on the show. It’s about showing all little girls, teenage girls and women that they have special gifts and talents that make them special. There are many people making successful strides in this world, famous or not. They are out there and I congratulate each and every one of them.

Rather than give negative comments, give positive words of inspiration to females who may read these posts. Positive words go a long way. Negativity is nothing but an unnecessary block. God bless you.

I’ve lead a very blessed life, but many females have not. They need to be encouraged and they need to know that regardless of the negative path their lives may have taken, they can get on the right road to success. Keep dreaming, keep fighting, keep pursuing higher education and they to will succeed in this world. God said there’s cattle on a thousand hills and they’re all ours to claim if we claim then in His Holy name.

Boo hoo, lets all cry becasue BEYONCE & RIHANNA arent there??? First off, this was a great show show & shouldnt be overshadowed by the fact that 2 very famous women were not there. This is a show about inspiring a new generation of black women, not overhyping 2 women who are already overhyped as it is.

So what if Keri & Shontelle performed, they’re 2 black women who have acheived their dreams, MONEY should not be a qualification to book you onto a show. tsk tsk, ppl are sad today.

BTW, i thought Keri’s performance was great. “Breaking Points’ is a very good song, but i cant put my finger around so many ppl dislike it… I guess it would have to be sung by Beyonce or Rihanna for it to be well received. lol

That is so racist. If MTV did a shoe called White Girls Rock than all you n****** would be complaining. Yeah I said it, who is going to do anything about. Black people especially black women always complain when they have everything handed to them. You give them wel-fare they sell there food stamps to buy crack and they don’t even bother looking for a job. You give them affirmative action and they slack off because they know they will get an easy ride. White people have to work hard for everything while blacks take advantaged of things that are basically handed out to them. And not to mention black women are the ugliest humans on earth, no wonder why so many black guys want a white woman who keeps themselves and there houses clean and doesn”t have roaches.

Well for starters Beyonce’ and Rihanna weren’t missed at all. What was Rihanna gonna sing ? Lol. Beyonce’ is an opportunist she only shows up when she’s promised something, or if the spotlight will be on her. F her. There were many big named artist there Monica, Missy, Fantasia, Jill Scott, then you had artists like Kelly Price, Keri Hilson Keyshia Cole and Ledisi. Everyone was great. Keri looked amazing that night and she did well with the song. Keyshia did her damn thang. As usual Fantasia did her damn thang. Monica kilt her performance. True performer. This was a great show.

Forget Beyonce, she was’nt gonna add anything new to the show. She and Rihanna are not the two biggest black artists female across the world. They are two of. Alicia is right up there and others. Everything does’nt revolve around them. Jazmine and Willow should have been there to. That would have been nice. Ciara looked great also. Great job BET.

Shontelle: Probably the weakest of the singers on show but she sung well and kept her tune and did a good job live. Well Done!!

Keri Hilson: That’s the best i’ve heard Keri live. Second half of the song she opened up and the displayed the vocal potential we get on her records. I prefer when she doesnt dance.

Monica: Such power and control. Real Diva who probably had comeback of the year in R&B. Hoped she would sing Love All Over but Still Standing is a great message of empowerment.

VV Brown: Very good singer with an alternative style of songs but love the voice and tone. Similar vibe to Jazmine Sullivan with a lil’ more funk.

Jill Scott: She’s just excellent. Love her sanging.

Keyshia Cole: She done ok but for some reason she sings a lot of her own stuff off key. Lots of power but not the control.

Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosius, Jill Scott & Ledisi: WOW!! All of them KILLED that. All had there own stamp and just vocal ART on display!!

Fantasia: She made for church. Sounds like a preacher. Don’t like her yelling so much but she can SANG without a doubt!!

Artistry is not based on your itunes charting and the records you sell. Artistry is about talent. Beyonce, Rihanna, and Alicia get special treatment from the mainstream media because of their light-complexion. YES I SAID IT! I do believe Beyonce and Alicia have other talents besides singing. Rihanna has no other talent besides her singing..wearing clothes and being attractive are not a talent. It’s not hating, it’s the truth because I’m light-kinned too and I see how people talk about them to seem above other talented artists like a Fantasia or Monica.

I promise many of these stans would not be interested in
Beyonce, Alicia or Rihanna if they looked like India Arie, who is

There’s nothing classy about a woman singing and telling a man to “F*** her” and actually saying the word “p***y” in such a bold and trashy way. Nothing classy or sensual about that at all. Beyonce and Rihanna have sexual songs, but even they’ve never gone that far. That song takes it to a whole new level.

So to celebrate that black girls rock, we have to have beyonce and rihanna there? Really? I like bey,I do. Rihanna, eh, not so much. Yes they’re both doing their thing but you all have forgotten that there are other powerful black women who can sing. Jill scott is amazing. Kelly price-amazing. Keri hilson may not be the strongest female singer out now but she is talented. Never understood why people hate her. If you want to get real: chrisette michele will sing circles around bey and rihanna. So will jazmine sullivan. Its not always about record sales. That s*** doesn’t mean anything. After all, half the industry is full of non talented people and they have number 1s. The point of BGR is to uplift black women. What has society come to. In order to uplift black women we have to have rihanna and beyonce there? Smh. This is no shade at anyone. I’m just baffled that people believe that rih and bey are the end all be all in music. But this show wasn’t all about “let’s get the biggest and baddest celebs”, it was about honoring those “who stood on the backs” of greats and all those who came before who shoved their way through the constricting barricades that’s been trying to block our passage for generations. You are so right. All three of those ladies do fall into a certain category. While talent plays a part in their popularity, they all perpetuate the “Hollywood” standard of beauty. Sadly, times have not changed that much and many of the talented darker complexioned women are overshadowed image-wise. Therefore they are overlooked and not as successful. Sad but, true.

I found it too be about inspiring young black girls that they too can be anything they want to be in life… Rihanna and Beyonce will probably be omitted from a lot of shows… It’s okay that a girl could want to become a singer but, there are other choices beside that. Being, Doctors, Lawyers, President, Governor, CEO of your own company ,rebounding from a***, to help in the fight. Keke Palmer spoke to young and up coming girls who may pursue a career in acting, showing that she chooses her parts where she will be proud… no nudity etc. Let’s remember that those who perform did great jobs but, the main focus where on the ones who had accomplish in life something’s that fifty years ago would have been impossibe!

I swear this generation is so simpl-minded stop making this about your favorite because it is NOT….and do these b****** pay you for this s*** because i would hope so with all this damn plugging

Also why the f*** do you all keep asking “where” is this person and “where” is that person???? did you ever stop to think THEY HAD OTHER OBLIGATIONS?? or maybe THEY WANTED TO MUCH MONEY TO BE THERE i know BET isnt the greatest but damn give them a break….it was not meant to be THAT SERIOUS. If someone wasnt there it was for good reason….it was alot of black women not there

listen i loved the women who were there. especially keri and the legend monica. But the fact that beyonce and rihanna weren’t there is dissapointing. Rihanna is not a sell-out to white people, Rude boy was a call-out to her Caribbean roots. Beyonce is so hot that she hasn’t released a song in months yet is as hot as her peers that have songs out. The fact that these women weren’t there makes it seem as though once a black person becomes really successful they lose the support of the African- American community. Just because Beyonce and Rihanna have enough talent to appeal audiances of all creeds, colors, sexualities, and nationalities doesn’t mean they are not black. SMH.

Im waiting for White Entertainment Television to become a channel on TV…i wonder if all the african Americans in the US would have a tangle in there weave if this was ever to happen. I think Martin Luther king Jr. would rise from the dead if it was true. And im sure there would be multiple lawsuits about WHITES being RACIST! First of all BLACK WOMEN SUCK! They are the most annoying obnoxious THING to walk on the earth. If White Women Rock was the next show Jessica Simpson was hosting it would be the start of WORLD WAR III. Because these obnoxious black women “wouldn has that” It makes it perfectly fine to have BET and BLACK WOMEN ROCK???????? f*** NO. I’m a White Guy SERIOUSLY confused about why this isn’t being blown up about racism. Because if you changed BLACK to WHITE there WOULD be something on the news about a racist TV channel. BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE RACIST SONS OF b******!!!! hope all you brownies read this. You f****** need to.

    @CAVDOGWPWW

FIRST: Over 95% of television is “White Entertainment Television”…the first black person wasn’t “allowed” to make an appearance on mainstream television until 1939. For goodness sakes…Michael Jackson had the first black video aired on MTV…what took so long? Obviously you didn’t get the memo, but just as many white women wear weave as black women…it’s just hair…

SECOND: Sorry to burst your bubble, but no, there wouldn’t be any lawsuits or any raising from the dead…BET and the show is not anti-white or racist, it’s simply a way to socially uplift black women and young black girls. We as a people were stripped of our culture and language and forced to be…for lack of a better word…American. Lol@ WORLD WAR III…I think it’s pretty obvious who the imperialists are and who starts the wars around here…

THIRD: Why the negativity? You shouldn’t have to bring people down to build yourself up. i.e. BLACK WOMEN SUCK? Brownies? Annoying obnoxious THING? Those are the typical exploitative and tainted opinions/remarks that make a show like BGR necessary in the first place. No pun intended, but a White Girls Rock show will NEVER be made, and if you don’t know why, you’re more “mis-educated” than I thought.

IN CLOSING: I do agree with one statement you made…you are a “guy that is SERIOUSLY confused”, doesn’t matter if you’re white or not. I’m here to tell you don’t be confused honey. READ. Because YOU need to.
