Nicki Minaj performed on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ today. The reigning female MC did a rendition of her new single, ‘Right Thru Me’, from her upcoming ‘Pink Friday’ LP. Peep the performance below:
As expected, Minaj let her backtrack handle most of the singing aspect included in the song. She is a great rapper but she is not a major vocalist by any means. It’s safe to say that the Lauryn Hill comparisons are officially over.

This was so damn boring! I skipped throughout the whole damn video! I was waiting for her to move but she didn’t. This is a hard song to perform since it’s so slow and has rapping verses, but she should have walked around and touched the audiences hands and gave more facial expressions and moved her hands. Her singing live sounds a mess. She sounded good on “You The Best” remix though. Her rapping was onpoint though. She sounded just like the track which oddly isn’t the case with most rappers. Most of them try to switch it up and end up sounding a hot shouting mess!

I dont know about yall, but i see a lot of potential in Nicki Minaj as a performer, she just needs coaching. Some parts were shaky. She obviously doesnt need to dance on this song becuase its too much. Having some good background singers is enough.
Peep how she was holding on tight to the mic and not opening up, she stood like a statue. Thats not being loose.
I think she needs to learn how to loosen up a little and her vocals werent bad it just seems like she was holding back. When u hold back on your vocals they come out sounding shakey. Give her time, hopefully her team does right by her and gives her coaching and fixes the flaws she has because young money is just not ready for a performer like her. Who else does that pop sounding hip hop and includes dances tracks and vocals like that?
