The record, which hits stores on November 16th, has generated little buzz amongst consumers so her label has released a full preview of the songs a week ahead of their usual schedule. Check out the clips below:
The production on this LP sounds amazing (as is expected from the world class team of producers commissioned by her label) but as usual her voice sounds atrocious. It is amazing that after 5 albums and multiple tours Rihanna has yet to learn how to maxmise her potential as a vocalist.
Furthermore, with the exception of the occasional insertion of West Indian twang, there is nothing on this record to be as unique as she claimed. In fact, I am sure that Lady GaGa could have performed all of these records with even better results. Rihanna basically applied the noise erupting from her throat to a series of well-crafted beats, added a bit of creole language and expected this album to be in a lane by itself.
However, It will be interesting to see how this album performs. Rihanna is releasing this project in a time when both Taylor Swift and Susan Boyle have records on the market and, as her fans conveniently forget to point out, Rihanna never got a #1 album. It looks like history is about to repeat itself once again and deservedly so.

Okay, I pre-ordered my copy yesterday on iTunes. I like the album so far. It sounds so different compared to ‘Rated R’, that’s why I’m so excited about it. I hated ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’ & loved ‘Rated R’. The production sounds very simple, but that’s alright, because ‘Loud’ is meant to sell, but I hope the radio stations don’t play it out much, because the LP sounds cute, especially ‘Fading’, ‘California King Bed’, ‘Raining Men’ and ‘S&M’.

Sounds pretty decent, even though I heard a few generically drowned tracks, but still a solid album, so far. I love that Caribbean-esque track, s*** sounded HOT! Another one toward the end had a FIYAH bass beat; sounded real urban. I like that one! No other stand-outs though.

@ chris brown stan I agree with you about her releasing photographs. I think instead of rockstar she should have released Photographs or firebomb those two would have been hits for sure. I personally liked Rated R , and wish she had released more songs, but people kept overshadowing the greatness of that album by constantly calling it dark, when in reality it was a great mixture of music. Showcasing rihanna at her best. Songs like firebomb, even stupid in love was great, cold case love, and that Ballad The last song. The gritty urban tune G4l. Rated R was a masterpiece too bad it was underrated, and to me the label just didn’t pick the right singles, aside for rudeboy.

i really like RiRi, ever since her very first album music of the sun, however this album makes me cringe cuz it seems as if she totally did not focus on the vocals at all on this album, its like she relied on the background music and autotune on most of the songs. She’s a really good singer, i think she could do better. I like Rated R, it wasn’t her best album but that album really told a story and had good vocals on there, it was very dark and s***, this one is like she just wanted dance songs which aren’t that great lol! but that’s just my opinion…i’m not hatein i just think she can do better
i never get when people say rihannas vocals are bad on records they always sound fine to me(well i mean they started to sound good after a girl like me) rihanna is bajan not american she will always have that twang in her voice but the girl can sing much much much better than your keri,ciara,ashanti,etc
