New Song: Ke$ha – ‘Cannibal’

Published: Thursday 4th Nov 2010 by Trent

The title song from Ke$ha’s new EP has surfaced. The Dance-heavy ‘Cannibal’ is track one on the 9-title collection in stores on November 22nd. Peep the song below:

This song is a winner. The Pop/Dance production, the synths and even the auto-tune work well together.

Ke$ha has certainly carved her own niche in the music market as a serious force to be reckoned with and a guilty pleasure for those of us who should know better than to indulge in her cookie cutter hits. I guess there comes a time when critiquing her lack of depth as an artist and vocalist becomes tiring and we just have to shut up and dance.

  7. Mark November 5, 2010

    ‘Now that your famous, your up my a***’ eww….love it tho..I love the fact she isn’t normal. This new album will be big. I hope she doesn’t end up like Rihanna releasing an album every 6 months.

  8. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    Oh my God. “There comes a time when critiquing her lack of depth as an artist and vocalist becomes tiring and we just have to shut up” yet this website insults Rihanna in every post (even in ones not about her).

  9. DION-ISH November 5, 2010

    i LOVE Kesha

    OF course her and millions of others realize Rihanna’s just GREAT.

    Trent and Sam have personal issues with Rih that have nothing to do with her music or voice..and thats that. its pretty obvious…

  10. Queen Of Hearts November 5, 2010

    You know what I didn’t like the title of the song or the album, ‘Cannibal’…Ummm, theres something about it that it doesn’t sit to well with me. But listening to the song I must admit that I was VERY impressed, this girl is very talented and original and every song she does is a HIT. The beat is crazy and will deffo be one of those songs that will always be on rotation in the clubs…Girls anthem it is!

    TRENT SAM AND I LIKE KE$HA AND HATE RIHFLOP IS BECAUSE RIHANNA TRIES TO BE SOMETHING SHE AIN’T.

    SINCE WHEN HAS KE$HA TALKED ABOUT HOW SHE MAKES NON GENERIC POP MUSIC?!

    Ke$ha doesn’t take herself too seriously, and just makes songs that are catchy with a cute beat…Rihfund, no the other hand, talks about how her music is on a whole different level than that of Katy Perry, Ke$ha or LADY GAGA.

    RIHFLOP: WHAT’S MY FLOP? ONLY FLOP (IN THE WORLD) RATED FLOP LOUDEST FLOP GOOD FLOP GONE BAD SHUT UP AND FLOP

  14. True Blue November 5, 2010

    @ RiRiLoud:

    I can’t listen to the song because for some reason the player won’t work for me, but you’re right. I fail to see how this chick is any better than Rihanna, I mean yeah, neither of them can sing but at least Rihanna has some good songs, I’ve yet to hear a Ke$ha song that I could honestly say I like. She has ZERO artistic merit, and I really don’t give a damn if she writes her own songs, because they’re all s***.

  15. True Blue November 5, 2010

    That isn’t to say that Trent doesn’t have a point about Rihanna, but it’s hard to take him seriously if he’s giving KE$HA, of all f****** people, any credit.

  16. Joao November 5, 2010

    @True Blue “She has ZERO artistic merit, and I really don’t give a damn if she writes her own songs, because they’re all s***.”

    Well millions of other people obviously disagree even if they don’t admit it they have her songs on their iTunes. 🙂 It’s fine, talk trash about her in blogs and to other people, but when you’re alone just keep buying her new stuff too so she can keep breaking chart records and shitting on your faves 😀
    Plus shes a super nice girl, not like Gaga and sometimes Rihanna who think they’re super different and creative and original when their sound is in the same category as Ke$ha, per example.

  17. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ “Shitting on my faves”???? Really??? So you mean to tell me that Ke$ha shits on Beyoncé. Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Janelle Monáe, all of whom have more talent in their fingertips then Ke$ha does in her whole body?

    Clearly you’re one of those people who stans for NUMBERS instead of TALENT.

  18. Rated X November 5, 2010

    umm please dont put rihanna and GAGA in the same talent category..

    yes GAGA uses gimmicks to sell albums and to get attention, BUT under all that gimmicks the bish can SING, DANCE AND ENTERTAIN people..so her talents overshadows her gimmicks….

    but rihanna on the other hand, if u take off all the hair style changing every month, the nice designer clothes, and her bangin body (no homo)..theres nothing there
    all she does s sell s**, and people would rather buy her singles than her whole album…

    kesha is on the same level of talent as rihanna, but notice only her singles sell also..her album could have 2,3, hot singles, and still cant sell 500k..

  19. Rated X November 5, 2010

    but of course keepin it real means I’m a hater..

    rolling eyes

  20. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    I completely co-sign! Seriously, this website may not like Rihanna but how could Ke$ha be any better to them?

    I like her personally, but writing your own songs means nothing. Although neither Rihanna nor Beyonce writes their songs, they still have better songs than people like Ke$ha and Taylor Swift who write their own songs but make songs that really sound like something anyone could write.

    By the way, did you hear about Christina’s fifth album?

  21. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    “Cannibal” can be heard by Google. I can’t give a link.

  22. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ Christina got a new album?

  23. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    Yup. Apparently she thinks Bionic is “old news” and her fifth album will be “Stripped-inspired”. She’ll start working on it next year 😀

    I really hope she cancels The Bionic Tour to work on this.

  24. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ I hope so too. And I do hope it has a more organic sound, cause electo-pop doesn’t really go with her for some reason.

  25. True Blue November 5, 2010

    * Electro-pop.

  26. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    Very, very true. She has a lot to be sad/angry about and inspired by. Sounds like it’ll be a good record.

  27. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ BTW, I’m we agree on Taylor being a weak songwriter, it gets annoying to hear people saying how much she has “evolved” when her songs still sound the same.

  28. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    I agree. I’ve given all of her albums a try and they all sound the same. Her lyrics, to me, are immature and dull. “Mean” is a perfect example of that. I could’ve written that song at age 5. And she hasn’t changed at all. A 20 year old’s album should be different than a 16 year old’s but not in her case.

  29. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ Exactly!!! I could forgive her first and second albums because she was a kid when she wrote them, and let’s face it, how many people are lyrical geniuses at 16, 17? But at 20 and with some experience under her belt, I expect more mature songs from her. She doesn’t have to be Bob Dylan or Joni Mitchell, but damn, write a song where I don’t automatically assume that you’re in grade school or something. Especially since she is a terrible singer, she should compensate by being lyrically talented. But of course, when you try to point these things out to her stans, they call you a “hater”, accuse you of being jealous and say you’re bashing her, when all you’re really doing is offering constructive criticism. Disagree if you must, but stop pulling out the tired “hater” card, it gets old.

  30. True Blue November 5, 2010

    Oh well, I do give her fans props for being loyal, at least they show their loyalty where it counts.

    I wish more artists had fans like fans like that.

  31. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    I honestly could not agree more. A hater, to me (I’ve misused this term before), is personally insulting someone or hating an artist with no merit (Trent and Sam at Rihanna). But Taylor gets constant compliments for being an amazing songwriter. I’ve heard 40+ songs from her and only 2 maybe have sounded up to par with a good songwriter. Good being the key word in that sentence.

    The part that irritates me is her arrogance. She acts like she is an amazing songwriter and singer when she isn’t particularly good at either thing.

  32. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    I just don’t know how she pulls in 1 million in first week sales. She is not that amazing to me.

  33. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    AND she isn’t country by any definition.

  34. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ Lil Wayne pulled in 1 million for “Tha Carter III” (or whatever number it is), I’m still wondering how the HELL that happened.

    Again, it’s the fans. I think Gaga’s gonna pull numbers like these for her next album (you can quote me on it). 😉

  36. True Blue November 5, 2010

    I don’t have anything against Taylor herself, it’s her fans that annoy me. Seriously, they make Nicky look humble and reasonable, they do everything he does x 100. They’re the kind of fans that make you unintentionally hate the artist.

  37. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    That’s true. Taylor isn’t too bad but her fans are crazy. I just wish, like you said, that more artists had such supportive friends. I was so confused when Baby of Cash Money said that Drake didn’t reach 1 million in first week sales because he didn’t have a crossover hit like “Lollipop”. What was “Find Your Love” then? Drake was lucky he sold 450,000 first week.

    I’m really anticipating Nicki and Rihanna’s first week sales. Specifically Nicki’s. And I also really don’t know about Gaga. She’s at a point where she could go two ways – singles artist or albums artist because thus far, her first week sales haven’t been huge.

    I just want to hear the lead single. She uploaded a pic of her “biggest fan’s” reaction after hearing the lead single and he was nearly dying. Either he’s extremely biased (which he is, I’m sure) or it’s a great single. The album’s done so I just want to hear the music now. It’s a definitive record for her.

  38. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    *fans

  39. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ I can’t wait for Gaga either, but I have a gut feeling that it’s gonna be epic. I can’t imagine otherwise.

    Nicki’s gonna flop or at least underwhelm in a very big fashion, and I don’t exactly predict big opening sales for Rihanna, but we’ll see. Although it would be better if certain delusional stans who’ve been caught using different personalities would stop exaggerating their predictions about her like they did last year.

  40. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    Haha I cannot believe some of Ri’s stans aren’t forward with their comments. I’m RIRILOUD and I say it like it is, why can’t *some people* do the same?

    As for Rihanna, I think she’ll pull in her best first week sales ever and possibly a #1 album. Susan Boyle and Taylor Swift are her only competition.

    Susan is projected 300k first week (she releases The Gift Nov. 9th) and it’ll probably sell half of that in its second week. As for Taylor, she’ll probably, in her fourth week will sell around 175k? Rihanna, I think, will sell about 250k max.

    I’m really pulling for a #1 album finally. That would shut a lot of people up – maybe even Sam and Trent.

    Gaga will definitely be amazing. I’ve always thought she’d disappoint me and she never has. It’s just hard to believe she’s already releasing her third album. Born This Way is bound to be the album of 2011 with singles and likely sales, too.

    Nicki won’t disappoint too badly, I don’t think. She won’t pull in Drake’s numbers by any means but I think she’ll sell around 400k max, more likely in the 250-350k range in my opinion. She may be one of those artists that doesn’t have huge singles but does have huge album sales. Kanye has every possible person on his songs but I’m looking forward to Nicki’s collaborations moreso – especially after hearing “Roman’s Revenge” with Shady.

    I just cannot wait. November is always an interesting month for albums.

    To be honest, Ciara’s album sales will be the most interesting to me.

  41. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ Yep, November’s big. I haven’t been into Ciara since Evolution, though. She lost my interest after that. I’m checking for Kanye, cause it sounds like his album will be a nice comeback from 808s.

  42. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    It’s extremely exciting. I only liked Ciara’s second album. Fantasy Ride was okay but so horribly promoted and she recorded it for years but it sounded rushed. Basic Instinct seems like the end of Ciara, unfortunately.

    808’s was great. I just thought that people wanted rap from him so MBDTF will be good, I’m sure. I just really love Nicki. I always go for the underdog. Habitual, I guess.

  43. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ 808s wasn’t bad, but what killed it was the overuse of Auto-Tune. It was overkill. If Kanye wanted to sing, he should’ve just gotten singing lessons. There are some songs that could’ve really done without it, like Heartless (did you hear The Fray’s cover of it, btw?)

  44. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    I don’t know. The auto-tune was okay. I heard The Fray’s cover of it. It was a weird song for them to cover, in my opinion, but it was good.

  45. True Blue November 5, 2010

    Even weirder was when they covered Hips Don’t Lie and Single Ladies. And they actually pulled off both songs.

  46. RiRiLOUD November 5, 2010

    @TrueBlue
    That’s extremely odd. I prefer their covers to their songs, though “How to Save a Life” is exempt from that.

  47. True Blue November 5, 2010

    ^^^ I liked the singles from their first album. Not hugely into them, though, but they did a good job with Heartless. Very rarely do covers do justice to the original, but theirs did.
