New Song: R. Kelly – ‘Love Letter’

Published: Tuesday 16th Nov 2010 by Trent

The title track from R. Kelly’s ‘Love Letter’ album surfaced today. Expect the entire LP in stores on December 14th. Listen to ‘Love Letter’ below:

This is the type of song that would do well with the Adult Contemporary audience. However, Kelly seems to be stuck in a bit of writer’s block because there is a similarity between this track and the compositions on his ‘Happy People’ LP. Nonetheless, fans of mature R&B will definitely enjoy this cut for all it’s worth.

TRENT YOU DON’T LIKE IT?….I LOVE THIS SONG..IT HAS A FEEL GOOD VIBE TO IT…SOMETHING ELSE FOR TREY TO STEAL FROM HIM(LOL)SMH…BUT SERIOUSLY I THINK HE DID A GREAT JOB WITH THIS SONG…PEOPLE CAN FORGIVE CHRIS THEN THEY CAN FORGIVE HIM AND FOCUS BACK ON THE GOOD MUSIC HE IS PUTTING OUT..YUUUP ON THAT!

Um the lyrics are perfect for the vibe of the album. There’s no writers block here. Anyway, this will be a R&B hit for R. Kelly. He also released a Christmas remix of this song. The man is a genius!

    – Doesn’t see any similiarity at all to “Happy People”.- The beat is closer to “Happy People” than the lyrics, so no, not a case of writer’s block. Maybe that’s you Trent with this article.

    Decent song.

the production reminds me of ‘call u tonight’ on whitney’s last album….

  7. J_ Nova November 16, 2010

The beat is hot. Song is cool… Guaranteed a spot on the Billboard 100.

Theres a slight similarity to Treys “Alone” with the harp on Passion/Pain/Pleasure

    This is real good music!

Trent is not hating the song, he said it reminds him of ” Happy People” Well Trent this is a song that Stevie Wonder would put out and R Kelly is paying homage to the people who paved the way for him to share with us his God given talents.

R Kelly has another chart topper with this single and ” When a Woman Loves” is still hot and is currently at #5 in the adult urban R&B charts is amazing.

Love Letter is a smooth track to set the evening up with your wife or girlfreind and I’m feeling this song from his heart.

Billboards are bias because how can they judge the song based on the writer and producer? Trey Songz ” Can’t be friends” is generic and not derserving of the top spot! Hip Hop does not belong on the R&B charts, they need to classify it correctly as rap! R&B is more Luther Vandross and Donnie Hathaway type of music which R Kelly has represented here.

Welcome back R Kelly you have done a wonderful job!

And there it is! The King of R&B does it again! He is that dude, he always had the R&B game on lock, this is REAL music, a real voice, a real man, not that fake gay ass s*** Trey Songz puts out. Kellz is always redefining music, the dude has never made a wack track, hit after hit.

So pay your respects to a legend, Love Letter droppin December 14, make sure yall cop that! It a 13 track album, get ready for fiyaaaaaaaaah.

  11. Alexander November 17, 2010

    Jo nicely worded!
    Fire and hot tracks galore!
Trey is not going to sell gold, by next week his album will fall off to 45, currently Trey is at 33 hahahaha. albums sells flopped hard!
Elephant swat flies and peep game Goat Songz Love letter is all real with belting vocals

  12. Kio November 17, 2010

Damn I can’t here, but Kellz bringing it this time!! After Gay Songz dissed him! Kellz letting you lames know that, all this computer, be bop s*** is PLAYED THE F*** OUT!! Damn I know the song good without hearing it!!!

Bring real R&B back, not just foir grown folks, but for everybody to enjoy!!!

  13. CHUA November 17, 2010

The beat reminds me of Trey Songz “I cant help but wait” But I like the song. Its nice…his singing is kind of rusty though.

  14. Alexander November 17, 2010

Kio It’s for everybody to listen too period! The young generation is lost on vocal boxes and autotunes what is music? They speak of the same thing over and over like bottle poppin, clubs and rims/ clothes/cars and money!

Some sing about hatred! What happened to love?

Listen to Love Letter you will find it inside your heart and learn to love again!
R Kelly no doubt is our hero who switched lanes and came back to what our fore fathers paved the way for us on getting here.

Trey songz has no vocals other than farmville! Goat and sheep Baaa!

  15. Alexander November 17, 2010

Chua you sound rusty and your words is musty! Shower up and come clean! Kelly is the King of R&b and this song is dope! Best vocals in show biz today hands down.

  16. Kio November 17, 2010

That’s right, then what f***** up is that they keep comparing these lames to the real R&B ledgends that been around 40 + years!! People are over you young ass gits, talking about not a damn thing, you had your change to make a mark in the world, now it is time for R&B to come back to it home!!

  17. Alexander November 17, 2010

Kio Hip Hop was destroying R&B but R Kelly has brought love into the mix and it will kill Them for being negative about h***/drugs/booze/cars and phony tattoos.
We do not need the Goat Songz or even Usher who turned pop!
We need some vocals and positive things about life lessons, not guys talking about how much money they have to rain $1.00 bills on women who they portray as h***!
It ‘s disrepectful and outright shame today in music and the top 100 Billboard promote this!
They need to really focus there attention on melodies and ballots like Kelly’s album and the ron Isley’s and Charlie Wilson’s and Jaheim’s!
Come on I’m tired of hip hop and it is dead in my book.

Kellz is one of the greatest artists of all time, hands down. This man is a creative genuis, and shuts it down every time. He has some of the greatest material, and is a beast when it comes down to songwriting. The Pied Piper of R&B has brilliant skills.

Trey Songz non singing ass will never have s*** on this genius. The song is jammin. I friggin love it. Kellz never disappoint musically EVER.
