With his ‘Passion, Pain & Pleasure’ album under-performing on the charts and struggling to reach gold status, Trey Songz has hit the promotional trail once again in an effort to turn things around. This time the singer performed on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, delivering renditions of ‘Can’t Be Friends’ and ‘Bottoms Up’. Peep the performances below:

It looks like Songz is trying to capitalise on the Thanksgiving sales surge that is about to take place. Either way, the chances of him scoring his first platinum album seem rather slim at this point so I sense that his label would be happy if they could at least get a gold record.
Then again, judging by the massive promotional campaign launched for this project, it’s safe to say that the profits gained by the company were not as large as those from his ‘Ready’ LP. The only way that the label would have gotten sizable revenue from Songz this year is if he is on a 360 deal and they get a cut of all his concert sales and endorsement deals. Maybe sex doesn’t sell so well after all.

Dueces has faded away, that boy is still putting out remixes to a song that came out 4 months ago while Trey is front and center with 2 hit singles on his hands lol. But a few months ago, y’all said his album had no promotion? Oh I get it, y’all just like to shade him. Anyway, he should be gold at the end of the month. And thats good for him. He may never go platinum. A lot of ppl aren’t selling like they used to. But he packs shows, and he’s getting good reviews for his performances on the OMG tour.
Oh, and he did well on Jimmy. He’s getting better at his tv performances.

@ speechless Deuces is still in the top 20 on the hot 100 and #2 on the R&B charts, Chris is no where near “Fading away”. and ofcourse chris last cd did not do well (320,00 0) because radio stations stopped playing his music, he couldnt promote the cd anywhere and store like walmart DID NOT even have his cd’s out. Yet Trey has had a lot of promotion and that n**** still aint even gold. WTF gives?? Chris had a reason his ish flopped and it was because of his DV case and that whole bad situation. Deuces is still a hot song too, and the Euro pop version is for the overseas fans! Both Trey and Chris are hot, makes no sense to pit them against one another!!!

Wow. Trey’s album is underperforming???? This site is so wack.. PPP is Trey’s fastest selling album and has probably already shipped over half a million. As at this week, it sold 17,000 bringing its total to 490,000. Is that underperforming??? by next week it should officially cross the gold mark.

How many people go platinum these days??? HMMMMM….as at today only 8 albums so far have sold over a million in the US. Trey is selling like no other R&B male artist (minus usher), I doubt he is underperforming when he’s about to cross the half a million mark. I remember during his first week, haters on this blog said his final sales would be 400k, he was going to flop, some people even predicted 50k. Where are those haters now?

Well until you’ve been been to one of his shows and heard him sing live for yourself, your opinion doesnt count. I’ve seen him live plenty of times and he sounds amazing live! These TV performances do him no justice because i honestly think he’s nervous.

I heard Trey Songz in concert a few years back (around Trey Day, his second album) and his vocals were flawless. I have to admit that I’ve always been a fan, but I went with my older sister who didn’t like him before but she was very impressed.
I really think it’s nervousness but he’ll get over it. He’s just now coming into his own.
That is why Trey did not make the cut- Top 200 Billboard 25 years best seller and chart topper! R Kelly taken the title of number 1- Number 1 R Kelly.
