Melanie Fiona gave the audience at The Luminaire in London a special surprise last evening. The R&B songstress debuted a new song, entitled ‘Gone & Never Coming Back’, from her 2011 release, ‘The MF Life’. Look below for the live debut:
This record sounds like it could be a winner. It seems that when Fiona described her new album as “stadium Soul” she was referring to a mix of live instruments, powerful vocals and grand compositions. I am certainly eager to hear the studio version of this track!

I would like to hear a studio version of this. Melanie Fiona is one of those artists like Jazmine Sullivan who based on talent should be easily taking over the charts but because she is not all s**-ed and glammed up she gets overlooked. I looove Melanie Fiona! Her voice is so beautiful and she is extremely talented and under rated!( although she did get several Grammy Nods) But I feel like I can’t really get a good feel of the song. I am gonna have to hear the studio version to decide if I really like it or not. I just can’t tell with this video. *shrugs*
I do love her voice.. but she needs an IMAGE make over.. the worst thing is her long moppy, unstyled, shaggy hair. It ALWAYS annoys me when I see it. GIrl style it, you can do the long hair don’t care..but do it RIGHT. If she wants some type of success in this industry she’s gonna have to get with it, or get LOST. no shade..

See this is the problem right here. People are way too focused on looks. This is not what music is about. It’s like buying a car that looks good, but doesn’t start. It doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to do. If Melanie can go up on stage every night and sing the way she did in that video or the video that @almostpia posted, then I could care less about her “moppy, unstyled, shaggy hair”. At least she does what she is supposed to do, and extremely well, I might add. You guys that feel that she needs to fix her hair or wear more fashionable clothes can go have fun with your “cars” that look good but can’t “start!”

Her last studio album released was hott…it sold millions outside of states. She is successful but hasnt reached reached mary etc level as of yet as she is fairly new to the states…

Besides being talented, Melanie is naturally beautiful. She doesn’t have to wear a weave like your Beyonces or Rihannas because that is ALL HER OWN HAIR. Yet again, her hair should be a non-factor when you think about someone’s talents.
