X-Factor 2010: Eliminations (Week 9)

The X-Factor 2010 saw its ninth set of eliminations tonight. Find out who’s heading home this week…

{For those unfamiliar with The X Factor, the show is the UK’s version of American Idol – with a twist in that groups and over 25’s are eligible to enter. Now in it’s seventh season, the show is responsible for birthing the careers of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, and JLS. It’s US version is set to launch in 2011}.

After registering the  lowest public vote of the contestants, Cher and Mary were two acts put on the chopping block.

The weekly sing-off proceeded with Mary taking to the stage first, with Cher following.

In the end, it was Cher who was granted a pass onto next week’s show following the  judges unanimous decision to save her over Irish Tesco worker Mary.

The X Factor continues on ITV1 next Saturday.

Another rebeeca fan -keeps mouth closed-

Im glad cher stayed over mary.. after all this is about finding the next big thing.. not someone whos just gonna sing all old songs in an out dated style. -cooughs rebecca

Yes Rececca has a better voice, but its not just about the voice… if it was just about that.. Mary would have won.

Wish Cher would have gone instead of Mary, or they both could have gone. Either way, F*** Cher.

    And yes, Rebecca FTW!

Glad Cher is in the final… she is a great pop star who will sell records outside of the show. She is also the most versatile she can sing pop, rnb, dance, rap, she is very current and is in step with whats going on with music right now (the urban pop scene)
Cher will be a HUGE star this time next year…. watch this space!!!!
I would like to see either Cher, Matt or Rebecca win, they are the three I have liked all season. One Direction are so un original they are the same as every other boyband out there…. I bet they do win tho!!! lol it’s obvious
