It’s official: Monica has gotten married. The R&B singer’s new husband, Shannon Brown, confirmed the news to Hip-Hop Non Stop TV Show during a recent interview, ending any speculation that the reports were false. See what he had to say below:

My husband and I only dated for three months before he proposed to me. If something is right for you and if you are trying to do things in the mindframe of what is in agreement with your religious or spiritual beliefs then time doesn’t matter.
From my understanding, Monica is a devout Christian and she mentioned in an interview that she did have conflicitng feelings about living with her children’s father, Rocko, before getting married. Hence if she and Shannon felt their relationship was blessed by God then it was their rightful decision for them to be married.
I’m happy for them both and I appreciated how Shannon came out on twitter last year saying how he loved her and she was his best friend and confidant. Wish them all the best!

No offense but Shannon Brown could do so much better. Monica is now a basketball wife. It’ll be interesting to see how long they last. If Khloe and Lamar can do it, I guess so can they.

First of all Shannon picked a great woman to marry, one with experience , love, good family and clearly a warm heart. Rocko was a cheater, everyone in Atlanta knew and I respect Monica for leaving and not bashing him but moving on. Also.. This video was taped after the Lakers lost to the Dallas mavericks. So he was somber but he was very clear, honest, and proud and I love it. Shannon also put put another beautiful statement about her. Alot of men now won’t wear a ring. And Shannon BEEN wearing his. Says alot for a younger man. I personally believe when a man knows he makes the move. Those 5-10 yr courtships aren’t what’s up. Congrats Monica and Shannon
