Nelly & Kelly Rowland’s ‘Gone’ Confirmed As Single

Fact: Nelly‘s latest LP ’5.0′ has been as successful as the war in Iraq. However, in what appears to be the smartest move yet in the handling of the project, the Kelly Rowland-assisted ‘Gone’ has been confirmed as the album’s next official single.

Set to impact Mainstream radio on January 18th, the Jim Jonsin produced cut serves as the third official release from the LP, which spawned Platinum Pop smash ‘Just A Dream’.

Sources close to camp Nelly stress that though the Hip-Pop star remains disappointed with the performance of the project, he and Universal Motown are adamant to give the LP at least one other positive face beyond the success of ‘Just A Dream’. Hence, reportedly in the works, is a video for the single too. Watch this space.

Song is definitely a crappy version of “Dilemma” and I’m sure with Nelly’s label not making much money from this project, the video will also be a crappy version of “Dilemma.”

I’m excited about this… I’m sure this will be a success depending on promotion and could bring in some single sales. The album is done, IMO.

on 90% of this song his singing!!..if you call it singing more like breathing heavily and talking in tune!! why would you do this when you’ve got an original member of destinys child one of the most successful girl groups of all time on the track??

This song is GREAT! If you not checking why are you on the post? @BREEZYTHEBEST You checked the post & clicked on it. Check for some common sense to know that if you weren’t checking you wouldn’t have even clicked & had the nerve to comment. Anyway, YAY! Punch Kelly & Nelly! The only thing I don’t like is Nelly’s singing, but Kelly’s clear smooth, commanding vocals more than make up for it.

the 2nd single should have been “Liv Tonight” even tho it features Miss Keri-ed Baby, it’s hott! And I do not know what the label was thinkin when the thought “Move That Body” would be a hit.

Yes Dr. Luke produced it, but overall the lyrics, still make it a shitty song!

“Gone” has Nelly singing way to much, no auto tune was necessary and he should have just sung rapped the entire song like “Dilemma” not how this was done! That bridge is DEAD with Nelly straight singing!

Um…I don’t think this is the best idea. Like several people have said it is like a bad remake of ‘Dilemma’. Its somewhat catchy but it gets really repetitive and annoying after a while. It just doesn’t recapture the magic of the original. *shrugs* It might do a lil something on the r&b charts, but it won’t come close to what ‘Just a Dream’ did. SMH.

His album really isn’t that bad, he has some good songs on their, he and his label just keep choosing the wrong singles. He should have never released ‘Move That Body’. Just because T Pain was on and it was a dance track it doesn’t mean it was going to be a hit. He was following a trend that didn’t work for him.

He announced on twitter a while ago that ‘Long Gone’ with Plies and CB was going to be his next single. I think that has the potential to do much better on the charts, or maybe the one with him and Keri Hilson. SMH. I don’t think they should give up on the album but they just aren’t handling it right. Good luck though Nelly. *shrugs*

Most songs on the radio are overly repetitive, so I don’t get that argument. I love Kelly’s vocals on this track. I do believe this will benifit her more than him. This song will be an Urban smash on radio, and with a shirtless nelly, the video is bound to stay @ the top of 106n Park. Please stop the negativity in 2011, hell we already lost J Sullivan…
