The fashionista recently paused the promotional push for her ‘Loud’ LP to rap up filming of her new movie ‘Battleship’. However, the 22 year old is set to open the door of her infamous microwave, to unleash a duo of new fast food hits.

According to All Access, ‘Loud’s next release will indeed be ‘S&M’ (as earlier hinted). The sexy uptempo is set to impact US Mainstream radio on January 25th. Meanwhile, the model’s collaboration with Kanye West, ‘All of the Lights’, saw its video shot two weeks ago, and is set to hit airwaves on January 18th.

Okay so she ain’t “The Voice”, she’s no Whitney or Mariah. But she can actually sing. And most importantly of all, she’s still improving so that can only be a good thing. There are some great vocals on “Loud” (“Complicated”, “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)”, “California King Bed”, “Man Down”).
Being a good vocalist isn’t always about singing as loud as you can and hitting the highest notes, or going through as much notes as you can in one word. She is a good vocalist in her own right.

Heres my Loud Review from November:
Poor Rihanna, She thought she could pull off another B’day or Thriller & it ended up as a complete & total FAIL but her bigger fans will have you believe otherwise. To start with, half the songs are str8 up FILLER. The other half is just okay. The Whole Album sounds like it was rushed, much of it is repetitive, much of the lyrics are about sex, just like a bunch of sad Rude Boy re-mixes with some Bland ballads thrown in. & it sounds like she was trying to re-do the likes of Pink, Katty Perry, Avril Laven, Kesha, Kelis & whomever else. This album truly fails to deliver in many different ways & a far cry from her last 2 efforts. Its Cool, Its Authentic but still at the same time Its filled with mediocrity. The only acceptable songs are Man Down, Raining Men, Skin, Cheers, S&M, LTWYL2 & Only Girl is OK too. These are decent but the rest is totally Lack Luster FILLER.

Sam’s analogies are horrible. Anyways, I’m glad “S&M” is the next single. That song is definitely going to continue to increase the album’s sales and “S&M” is bound to reach #1. I’m hoping the dual single “S&M” and “Raining Men” release was scrapped so that she can release “Cheers” in the spring and “Raining Men” in the summer before a re-release.
If she released “Raining Men” with “S&M” she wouldn’t have another single for the summer and a re-release would be coming way too soon.
“All of the Lights” is a good song but I doubt it’s going to be a huge hit on the charts.

I kind of disagree. Besides your review of Loud (even from an unbiased view, I still thought that Loud was Rihanna’s strongest record to date), I agree with the tracklisting being too short.
Rihanna actually recorded like 20 other songs for Loud but only 11 were put onto it. According to some of the producers, a bunch of dance/pop songs were left off of Loud for some reason. I wish Loud had had more dance songs.
But yes, “Rude Boy” is definitely one of her strongest tracks and the video for that song was one of her best videos ever.

You have to love the sarcasm here. It’s one of a kind. “The voice”, now that’s the most comical description of Rihanna I think I’ve ever heard. It made me laugh to myself out loud. I’m sure, however that this post is great news for her fans. I know they’re elated. She hasn’t failed them yet with this project, so kudos to her for having one of her strongest eras thus far! I don’t care for S&M, but it seems to be a favorite. I’d much rather she release Cheers or Skin(which happens to be one of her best songs ever). Anyway, we’ll just have to see what kind of video treatment this one get to make it interesting. As far as I’m concerned (and I’m being objective, because I’m not a fan of either) Kelly Rowland obviously have a better voice, but she isn’t half the star Rihanna is. I’ll even go on to say that she’ll never make songs with the appeal that Rihanna has, so it’s really a waste of time to compare them or speak of how much Kelly would excel if she had the same opportunities. She wouldn’t.

S&M is an okay song, to me, but it’s a GREAT single choice because of it’s underlying generic-ness. I like Fading, Skin, LTWYL 2, and of course WMN. I also like All of The Lights, but I think Kanye should reduce the amount of people on the record for single and promo purposes. I honestly think the song should be just he and Rihanna. But whatever. Although Loud is nowhere near as good as Rated R (by far her best album), I think her album sales are quite good. But this girl’s performances MUST improve. I kinda think her performing “Complicated” would be the most entertaining comedy EVER. LOL!

The reason people compare Beyonce to MJ is because she’s probably the artist with the must natural born talent next to him. Nobody is going to see MJ’s numbers with all the illegal downloading and bootlegging that wasn’t around in MJ’s heyday. Beyonce sells in the US and worldwide. Her 3 solo albums always finish in the Top 10 Worldwide End of the Year Charts. Beyonce does only have 3 solo albums, compared to Rihanna’s 5 solo albums. With 3 albums, Beyonce still has sold more worldwide than Rihanna. Just look at their last albums. Rihanna sold about 2 or 3 million worldwide while Beyonce sold 7 million.
