I visit that site for rap information that TGJ and a few other similar sites don’t report on, but the comment sections are so hateful and I can’t be the only sensible person so I avoid the comment section. There was actually someone on YOUTUBE who argued with me for a WEEK. It started off as a debate about rap [he believed rap was dead, i argued there’s still some credible mcs] then out of nowhere he started saying how my taste in rap reflects me as a person? Tried to convert me to Islam and even called me a House Negro..he was basically talking to his self because i my friend died the same week..he was intelligent yet ignorant at the same time.
About R*****, i think some hip hop fans are the most hateful..its just the hood mentality. I mean i used to have it to..but i guess i’ve grown. I’m still hood, just not rude lmao.

It is good, however, since he has way less hits than TGJ he always has to start stan wars. At the same time, though, TGJ used to practically copy & paste his posts and steal his original pictures back when he was an urban blog, so he had to switch to being a pop blog. That’s part of the reason why I like him much more than I like Trent & Sam…and he has more similar music tastes to mine than Sam and Trent who are so obsessed with Whitney and Mariah.

Try watching a video of a classic artist, and see in the comments if you won’t see some idiot going “I’m 14, and I listen to real music, not that pop and rap crap that all my friends listen to!”. I see comments like these ad nauseam. I’m like “Just shut the hell up, you’re not more special than anyone else just because you listen to music that’s older than you!”

He is? Wow…his age really doesn’t match his maturity. I felt the same way growing up. In my school, there was a normal program and an advanced program and although I wasn’t in the advanced program, all of my friends were because I felt so much more mature and intelligent than my fellow normal program students. I’m not bragging or boasting, but I even felt more mature and intelligent than the advanced program students.
That’s why I’m so glad to finally be in college – I no longer feel out of place with my peers.

What I meant is that although he can be loud, immature, and have fun with his friends he’s actually very intellectual and has a really interesting take on life aside from mine. The best part about him, though, is that although he knows so much about a lot of different things in life, he realizes that he doesn’t know everything.

It happens a lot with music to, i like to REALLY get into conversations about music [if you want me to open up, mention music] but it’s like when I’m talking to someone about it they’re not completely there? I guess people just have different passions. I just hate when your in deep thought and all you want to do is just talk to someone about it but then once you do they’re barely even there, mentally. I completely agree with you. I’m not boasting, but I know a lot about the music industry and it interests me so it was difficult when I wanted to discuss music (after events occured) and I didn’t have TGJ. I love TGJ because none of my friends know much about music. They all have their own interests, I guess, but sometimes it’s difficult.
Also, I hate dumbing myself down. I used to do that a lot simply because my opinions seemed to be too sophisticated in high school and earlier on, but now in college, I’ve finally met people who are like myself.

Exactly, it almost kind of hurts. Feeling like there’s no one else who thinks like you, sometimes i feel alone really. I always compare good friends to good music. Lilke this, listening to uptempo party music is great but you NEED to inspirational/emotional ballads to balance you out and be teach you. Same with friends, you need friends with both qualities. Its cool to have a friend thats funny and always cracks you up, but they need to be able to be there when you’re down and talk you up. However, you also don’t want someone who only can have the deep conversations, you need that fun to. I think that they compliment eachother you know? I can’t talk to someone or become close to someone who can only offer me one, unless they’re great at that one.

I don’t know….it varies. I like that they’re is a large age distance between us because that way, since I honestly know more than he does about most topics, he can seek me for help and also I suppose look up to me. I also get to watch him grow up. However, although we are close, we’ve never been super close and our interests and lives are so different. Being a 23 year old college student in Seattle, it’s hard to have a relationship with a 14 year old sophomore back in LA, to be honest.
I’d probably have to say that it’d be easier if we were closer in age, but I do have to focus on the positive and be happy that I can help him better than if I was say, 16, right now.
