The last 12 months have been quite the roller-coaster for sultry singer Toni Braxton. Characterised by the breakdown of her marriage, commercial disappointment, and filing for bankruptcy again, 2010 is undoubtedly a year the R&B legend wishes to leave in the past.
Hence, in kicking off the new year with a bang, the legendary vocalist, 43, has revealed that she is considering posing for Playboy.

Writing on Twitter today, the singer said (read down-up):
For yours truly, Ms. Braxton has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Current label issues and the effects of previous label drama (see: Blackground) has somewhat left her between a rock and a hard place professionally – and ultimately financially. (For those who remember, she came out worse for wear in her court-showdown with Blackground two years ago).
Therefore, so long as she’s not pimping her dignity (or ‘Susie’ as she said), Playboy may not actually be such a bad route at this point. One can only hope Ms. Braxton follows swiftly with an album or musical project of sorts thereafter. For, in an ideal world, an artist as talented and capable as she still is, should not have to resort to such measures to garner public interest. Of course, the reality of the industry and the politics within, mean that unfortunately is the case. Hence, it’s simply a matter of taking the card’s you’ve been dealt and playing the game until you win.
It’ll be interesting to see how this unfolds…

She’s launching a reality show as well. Truth be told, she has bills to pay and mouths to feed. Though I’m never a fan of anyone whoring themselves out – it doesn’t seem like she has much of a choice.

Poor Toni! I don’t understand how she’s even in this predicament again. I thought she made millions during her stint in Vegas. It was a very successful show. It’s sad that she can’t avoid filing for bankruptcy every 10 years. She’s never back on her feet for long and I don’t see how that’s the case. After her first filing she was awarded a settlement in result of the long drawn out fued with her former label she sued (since she wasn’t properly given the royalties due to her from selling millions of albums). If you calculate all that she’s earned in the last 20 years, it would seem that she would have been more finacially secure. I know Toni can be a bit lavish when it comes to her spending, but is it really that bad Toni??? I hope she comes out a winner in 2011, she’s really been given the short end of the stick. It’s so unfair when someone like her is so talented.
I will never understand millions of albums sold through out her career, tours worldwide and movies. How do one file bankruptcy twice 0_o. At the end of the day she has bills to pay and she’s one of the finest women in this music industry so more power to her. People needs to realize that if the record label is putting money out for you they get all the money back and more so alot of these artist are not making any real money at all. An artist may go and buy a house and cars and have to sell them to make ends meet. Alot of these aritsts have to do about 3 or 4 other things just to break even. Like selling their naked bodies to magazine industry. So this don’t shock me not one bit.
I hope NOT! She is way too talented for this. She better get her ass out on TOUR overseas and make that Money, Honey! It’s really sad what these older DIVAS have to go through now and days since RADIO and MEDIA masses turned on them. What a PITY!! Besides isn’t a reality TV show kicking off in April. She’ll get her fame back and will be able to regain her Money! -hopefully.

Toni definitely needs to do playboy, just keep the shoot luxe and glamorous. Then she needs to either be a judge on America’s X-Factor, or hit up BET and start her own American Idol type show looking for Soul/R&B singers. Then she needs to do a reality show showing her forging her Comeback ie: the making of a new album, being a reality show jusge, showing the playboy shoot. And finally she needs to take herself back to Vegas, and do a stage show. Thisi s how Toni can get back. Oh yeah: And stop spending funds that she doesn’t have; because bankruptcy (esp. 2wice filed) is not cute. BONUS IDEA: Toni needs to get back with her sisters and sing in the group again. Cindy Crawford did PlayBoy 3 times and last time at age 40. What’s the big deal and she wasnt strapped for cash – far from it. PlayBoy is pretty tasteful as far as nudie pics go. If she gets 1-2 mil for the spread why not?? She needs the cash. Wish I could make that.
Toni said it was her health that got her into a bind this time. She got sick again and the way the Vegas contract read it made her responsible for the costs or something… so all the debt mounted when she wasnt working and voila – bankruptcy #2. Health care in the US sucks big time!!
