Her 1st high QUALITY (in every aspect of the meaning) video, FINALLY! I admit the acting @ the beginning was good, & I did laugh & enjoy it. Other than that the video was basically a performance piece. Not really bad, but nothing to extravagant or to write home about either. Like the song thou.

^^So many people are doing that lately. Kanye’s is possibly releasing another record this summer, Drake’s releasing his second in March or April, Nicki’s working on her second, and of course there’s Lil Wayne who released two albums last year and is about to release another.

This is the best Nicki’s looked in a video and the setting is beautiful.
I loved the ending to, overall I loved the storyline and quality but I think Nicki & Drake could have put on more of a show..and I love M4L, it’s the perfect graduation or really any type of celebration song, the part y aspect and the inspirational opening & closing lines.
The fly video needs to be GROUNDBREAKING though because the song will be huge and solidify her as one of the great femcees.

Nicki said she and Rihanna will be changing the world in more ways than one with the “Fly” video, so I know I have high expectations. It does seem that Nicki cared more about making that video high quality and consequently rushed this video. I’m excited for the “Girls Fall Like Dominoes” and “Save Me” videos, though.

I know, it’s crazy. But at the same time, I’m really excited for Drake’s 2nd record, Take Care, since he said it’ll be catchier (some of the raps from Thank Me Later just dragged on and on), but also inspired by Winnie the Pooh. Nicki said her 2nd record will be crazy, so I’m hoping it’s more in a rap direction. Pink Friday was understandably commercial after all of her features, but I expect more rap and hip-hop next go round. She did say it’ll be very Roman-like (“Roman’s Revenge”), so I’m excited. A little soon, though.

I’m expecting great things from the “Fly” video (since I stan for Rihanna and Nicki), but I don’t know if it’ll deliver since the picture was kind of weird-looking. I doubt those celebrities will be featured in the GFLD video, but a domino-inspiration with effects could be cool. “Save Me” is amazing as a song, and I cannot wait for the “Did It on’Em” video. I love that song. She said even “Muny” and “Roman’s Revenge” might get videos. I’m guessing with all of these videos, not all of those songs will be singles, though.
“Catch Me” is one of my FAVORITE Pink Friday songs, but I could picture a deeper video with something more rustic and dark. “Russian Roulette”-like, though it wouldn’t fit with the pink theme. I understand your ski loft thought, though.

Haven’t listened to the album, but the meaningful ones she’s released so far (Your Love, the one where she’s wearing pajamas and has a good-looking guy in her video, I can’t remember the title, and M4L) are just okay at best for me. She’s a little fluffy (for lack of a better term) on the softer songs, I don’t notice the talent that she shows in RR and Monster.

I could picture it starting off lighthearted then as the story progresses and they argue a blizzard could roll in and the environment could become very dark and there could be scenes where it looks like she’s falling off the mountain, since its called Catch Me. I think she could pull all those celebs together! I think they’d want to be apart of something THAT big. I could picture a touching video for Dear Old Nicki to.

I loved it! Especially the beginning with her talking to her Fairy God Mother, very cute! Those voices she always uses really came in handy for this video. Usually her songs are a hit or miss for me, but her video’s never disappoint! I love how she adds acting into all of them. I know the acting is supposed to be a lil over the top but I think she might actually be a pretty good actress. I wouldn’t mind seeing her make that leap to the big screen one day.
And dare I say it, Drake’s funny looking ass actually looked cute! *gasp* He’s still a cornball though. Lol! They had pretty good chemistry in the video, but not as good as him and certain someone else. I wonder who he truly wants.

Pink Friday isn’t straight pop at all. Only “Check It Out” and “Your Love” are pop, and even those are more pop with strong electronic, R&B, and hip-hop influences. Like Kavion said, though, get used to it. No music is straight anything anymore.

This video was cute, I kind of appreciated that it WASN’T overdone. And, as far as this being a pop song, pop means popular music, so yes it’s pop. Pop also implies that it’s been watered down in a way to appeal to everyone, and I’d agree that the style of this song very deliberately tries to appeal to everyone. It’s pop music, of course. Just because they’re “rapping” doesn’t mean, somehow it’s not pop.
Nicki and Drake and both pop artists, they try deliberately to appeal to a wide, international audience. More people are trying to do that now, strait away instead of “waiting” to cross over.
