Wow! Britney is killing me right now! After watching this first teaser, i’m not sure if I can watch them each day consecutively, because the anticipation and excitement will be to high!
That teaser was very weak, and what is taking the video so long to get released? 14 days even though the video was shot on the 21st and 22nd of last month? If we have to wait 14 days, then that means the video will drop on the 18th of this month. Pretty lame.
@ James. Seeing how there is no promo for the song, it will continue to drop. How come people can’t seem to get that through their friggin thick skulls? If a song is not being promoted, then it is bound to continue dropping like flies. However, this doesn’t change the fact that HIAM is a massive record breaking success and will be her biggest radio smash since Toxic.
Why are they waiting so much to release it? Don’t they think that people are already losing their interest? HIAM is free falling on the Hot 100. #1 to #6 and now it’s #8… Probably, in the next week the song will be out of the top10.

Regardless of the song dropping from #1 on the hot 100 charts, “Hold It Against Me” is still gaining radio airplay. This is her 2nd week of getting the highest airplay gain. She is now in the top 10 on the pop charts and also on the radio charts. So the song is still doing well. Once the video is released, I’m sure the she will have another #1 on the pop chart, radio top 40 chart and more then likely it will climb back up on the Hot 100 chart. So I’m not worried.

Many artists recently have debuted in at number 1, dropped in the next couple weeks and then pushed back up as radio caught up to the sales demand (i.e. P!nk, Ke$ha, etc.). It just seems to be the way things are going lately. So no worries. The video isn’t out yet, there have been no performances or promotion, etc. It’s all coming and the single will be fine. And yes, 2 weeks in a row, it’s received the “airplay gainer” title from Billboard as it just gets stronger and stronger at radio.
Hate to use this word but it looks EPIC!!! lol. I cant wait to see this but 14 days is a verry long wait for a song that she really hasnt did any promo for.
LOL at Britney’s HIAM almost being out of the Top 10 after only 2 weeks of it being out! That just proves that she’s all hype! This happens to many “legendary” artists! It’s because the majority of their fans, that are still left, buy the single in the first week. Britney has no substance, she was famous and successful for all these years because music was evolving, she bought something new and trendy at the time, and because of her body and image. The video teaser is retarded! Really, 5 seconds? It doesn’t matter when the video releases because HIAM is a weak, generic single. Plus, I have a good feeling the video isn’t going to be anything special. I don’t like Britney or her music, but you gotta admit that her music back then was well produced and well written and she’s never going to be able to top it.

I think 95% of the folks on this blog can still say regardless if they like Britney or not, that she is STILL successful and famous. Yeah her albums may not go Diamond like her previous albums, but she still sales platinum albums here in the states and worldwide.

I think because the single was released the same day as when it was released to radio it seems a long time for the video to debut. Whereas normally the single would have been released in mid Feb or beginning. So I think they should have planned that better but I think there should be another single before the release of the album or the wait will seem even longer. I mean come on Jan single release and album release in mid March that is ages away.

It looks like HIAM is having the same tragectory as Rihanna’s sinlges from Loud, where they had big point gains due to first week sales, then after the initial frenzy, the craze levels off a bit, then the song steadily climbs up the chart to #1 after weeks of consistent sales, a video, and airplay.

It may seem stupid to release 5 sec clips everyday but her team knows what its doing. It keeps her in the news everyday for 2 weeks when people post the clips. Good promo.
