Several of Jennifer Hudson’s dreams have already come true in recent years. The singer has won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award, scored a top-selling album and performed for her idols Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston.
However, Hudson took time from her packed promotional schedule to help one of her biggest fans, Savannah Robinson, to live her wildest fantasy by singing a duet of ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’ on ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’. Check out their performance below:

It’s sad to see so much negativity towards someone with real singing ability. I’m sure glad that people didn’t try to tell Whitney Houston to only sing Gospel music back in the day.
Perhaps JHud just needs to get with a producer who can help her reign in her voice for pop & r&b lite tracks so as to appease the masses who seem so infatuated with those who either flat out cannot sing or use auto-tune to hide their lack of vocal ability.

When does R&B ever sell these days?? JHud did good and is consistent with her last album sales…Chris ventured into different territories and his s*** was anticipated and hyped up due to his flop, Graffiti.

Not hating on Jennifer at all, but when are some people going to understand Jennifer is not Whitney? Why the stupid comparison by saying ‘nobody told Whitney to only sing gospel’? Of course nobody did, Whitney´s voice was Gold, Heaven on Earth, no matter what music genre she tried. She just had That voice and that x-factor. Same goes for Mariah for example. Jennifer and some other powerhouses don´t have that and that´s why they will never be main stars on music industry. It´s ridiculous to have to explain this

Trent loves hating on JHUD for some unknown reason! Could it be that she is more talented then his favorites and hes scare that she is going to take them out! JHud is on her way to Iconic status! U can say what U want about her not beating Chris but the girl sold 167,000 which is not far from these “So-Call” pop stars! She is also on her way to receiving. Another oscar once the movie “Winnie” debates! I am proud of the way she carries herself!! Keep doing you Jhud, U R already on top, time will tell all!!

People didn’t tell Whitney Houston to only sing gospel, because unlike J. Hud, Whitney had a versatile voice that could ing anything. Jennifer Hudson’s voice is only good for gospel. Anything she sings sounds like a gospel song.
I must say now that what I call singing. I mean that little Savannah did her thing. She will become another Justin B. Jennifer on the other hand have a voice but she needs to stop screaming. She has the range so she don’t need to scream

Yes Jennifer has a great strong voice, but truth be told that 12 young girl out sang Jennifer. That child has range and control over her voice. I really felt like Jennifer knew it too so she step back and let that child have her way.
Now that’s what being an artist/entertainer is all about. Taking the time out of you’re schedule to give back to the fans, especially the kids. Much respect!

I just love this little girl to death!!!! And praise Jennifer because she took the moments to let the little girl shine. Of course she ended the song but its awesome to see that she knew that the performance wasn’t completely about her but about the little girl and took moments to just stand there and let the little girl do her thang! That’s what you call humble
@ ANTHONY THE GREAT – my point (which you missed) is that just like SOMEBODY taught Whitney vocal techniques and how to reign in her powerful voice, a producer or vocal coach can also work with JHud to bring more subtly to HER powerful voice.
This was such a touching moment. I just loved it and could not believe how my eyes were watering up as Jennifer belted out those lyrics
