Pop diva Jennifer Lopez looks set to have cause for celebration this weekend. For, the superstar singer is on the brink of securing her first UK #1 single in over 6 years.

According to official midweek figures, the 41 year old’s comeback single ‘On The Floor (ft. Pitbull)’ is outselling nearing rival, Adele‘s seemingly unstoppable ‘Someone Like You’, by quite a margin.
Should the American Idol judge nab the top spot, it will serve as her first British chart-topper since 2005’s ‘Get Right’.
With her promotional push limited in the US – and almost non-existant here in the UK (due to her Idol commitments), this is most certainly a huge achievement. And, more than anything, serves as yet another, case, point, example of the results of putting out solid material. Such material being something which had eluded Lopez for sometime; yet something she appears to have remedied with this ‘Love?’ project.

To tell you the truth “On the Floor” is not number 1 worthy because it’s to repetitive and mellow. Had it been more upbeat and infectious, then maybe it would sound like a hit. She’s such a damn opportunist. This is why I can’t stand her. She’s very smart, but it’s sad that she has to use every hot at the moment thing to get her success. She used Puffy, Ja Rule/Murder Inc, Ben Afleck (their love affair was everywhere and eventually ruined her career), then she tried to get press from her and Marc’s relationship, but it failed. Now she has to rely on American Idol and recycled beats to get success again. That single with Lil Wayne is awful! She messed up. I can’t wait until it flops so then she can stfu again. When A.I. is over, nobody is going to care about her anymore.
