The self-professed ‘Baddest B*tch’ Trina is back – and this time she has Autotune don T-Pain entoe. Together the pair have conjured up ‘Ghetto’ – the latest release to be lifted from Miami rapper’s forthcoming mixtape – ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ (due March 28th).

As a long time Trina supporter, I’ve been eager to see her break-away from her typical ‘I’m Da Baddest’ lyrical mainstay. And while this marks somewhat of a change, whether or not it’s a positive or negative one is down to interpretation. For yours truly, though, there is something slightly unnerving about glorifying a way of life which ultimately has and continues to hold down a specific group of people. The beat does go hard, however….

I love it.! So many people have slept on Trina for the years she’s been active. But this song and new direction she’s taking is impressing me so far. First Waist So Skinny, Can I, and now Ghetto. All three of these songs are amazing. I hope her new 2011 album will be a success can makes the BB200 Top 10 like Still Da Baddest did. Trina has come such a long way. I’m proud of her.

You couldn’t tell me nothing about Trina 98 – 02 I was the biggest stan ever. I still love her to this day because she seems like a sweet person and gives back to her community. Some where along the way she started copying other artist style like (What’s HOT of the moment girls Bee and Riri) It made loose a little respect for her because of how long she’s been in the game. She hasn’t grown as an artist but she enjoys being an artist and seems happy where she’s at sooo, if she likes then I love it. I just always wanted her to become a bigger star. I like this song and I hope she stays in direction with her future music.

I like this, you might not like what it’s about but it does what it says on the tin…, the beat goes in and lyrically it’s comical and fresh and yeah, it is ghetto but that’s the point. If people really thought the trappings that define ‘ghetto’ were all that bad then they wouldn’t rock them to begin with but hey, for some people high heeled sneakers are a fun cliche to rock, so be it. i like my red, gold and green…, yh it’s played out but it some ways it’s retro and ironic…., ghetto chic is 90′s and that’s now retro therefore so is ghetto chic.
