After causing a frenzy hours ago with the debut of her ‘Run The World (Girls)’ video, Beyonce has unveiled the release date and album cover for the eagerly anticipated set.

Beyonce’s New Album “4” To Be Released on Tuesday, June 28
NEW YORK, May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Columbia Records will release “4,” the fourth solo studio album from Beyonce on Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
The album was recorded over a year between the spring of 2009 and the spring of 2010, while Beyonce took time away from the spotlight. She engaged in what she describes as simple things, including listening to every kind of music she truly enjoys. Her mixed musical gumbo will be displayed on the upcoming album.
The title signifies not only the artist’s fourth solo offering and the day of her birth but it is also a personal gift to her fans. For over one year now her fans around the world took to their social media pages urging her to name the album for her special number.
The intensely anticipated video for the album’s lead single, “Run The World (Girls),” made its premiere on American Idol tonight. The online debut of the full-length video immediately followed at www.beyonceonline.com.
Filmed in Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert over three days in April, the Francis Lawrence-directed video boasts a cast of over 200 dancers, a menagerie of exotic animals and Beyonce as the leader of a stunning army of women.

I can not wait to hear new music from Beyoncé. I can’t wait to see her in Nice in June, and buying the album the week after. Y’all love tO hate on bey but that album cover is frigging s***. Very high fashion it looks like it could be a cover for a fashion magazine and I love it. I think it’s her best cover to date. She looks amazing. This woman really inspires me. I admire her work ethic. And glad to see a sister achieve all that she has when the odds were against her. She continues to knock down doors so if nothing else I tip my hat off to her.

Giving the album just two stars, he calls The Edge of Glory “a horrible rock ballad of the kind that even Cher would dismiss as bad taste”, and says Born This Way is “so squarely aimed at Lady Gaga’s gay audience that you suspect she would have roped in John Inman to trill ‘I’m free’ somewhere around the second verse, were he still with us”. His conclusion? “Born This Way is the album equivalent of a finely cooked meal,” he says, “with a load of tomato ketchup splurged all over it.”

There’s no winning with some folks – people will hate the song, then the video, then the album cover, then the 2nd single, then the 2nd video and then the entire album without even thinking of just observing it first! I hate Gaga’s music with a passion and I even stumbled onto something that was decent.
Some people don’t even need to rehearse, because they stick to the same script… Flop! Give your husband a baby! This shows no growth! This is just not what I expect from her! This is similar to Britney (which is the funniest thing ever – because we can talk about her comparison’s to Janet’s entire career for hours on end)!… and then my personal favorite, this girl is stealing from the music she “samples”… Everyone in the whole industry can “sample” before Bey does. @ Rosa Rubbel – I actually remember that being the plan from earlier this year, but that hype has died down. I can’t recall the source though. I’m hoping that Brandy’s sticking to those initial plans, because I was looking forward to her and only a handful.
BTW, Tamia is still so gorgeous(I see her in your gravatar :))! I’ve seen recent pics of her and it’s a shame that she hasn’t continued recording any new albums. Wow! I actually really do like the cover! She looks great! It looks like she is going with a more edgier look this time around, which I understand. So far I have really liked the artwork that I have seen this era, the video excited me but I seriously think thet hype will die down soon.
But it is all gonna come down to the music. So far I haven’t really liked what I heard & even with her American Idol performance helped the single get back into the top 100 downloaded but it’s stalling at 40. Truth be told, a lot of people really weren’t feeling the first single. She is really gonna have to bring it with the next single.

Um….videos count as promotion & that has been out for a while. She hasn’t performed it anywhere but it has gotten a lot of buzz.
SMH! Ya’ll kill me trying to bring up Kelly to shade Bey! All ya’ll better go out and buy Kelly’s album when it comes out this fall too.
