This week’s That Grape Juice Cover Star is Envy Starr. The 22 year old, Los Angeles native serves up her own rendition of Mary J. Blige’s 2006 smash ‘Be Without You.

Her over-reliance on the backing-track aside, Starr nailed it. Showcasing a competent and confident vocal, she serves as a reminder that it’s not all about having the best voice. Rather, how one is able to hone, control, and emote from it separates the bad from the good – this effortlessly falling into the latter. I like.
