Randomness: One has to wonder if GaGa’s deep media penetration could lead to over-exposure in the not too distant future? Stil, unlike many who have fallen victim to such fate, the ‘Edge of Glory’ singer actually has the talent to back it up. I say, more power to her.

One downside of Lady Gaga hyping her new “Born This Way” CD for four or five months is that it didn’t create much of a radio event when it was actually released Monday.
The title single was in heavy rotation on stations like WKTU (103.5 FM), WHTZ (100.3 FM) and WXRK (92.3 FM) – as it has been for some time.

Both the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times have given Born This Way negative reviews. They have joined many other media outlets in saying that Lady Gaga’s new album certainly isn’t the album of the decade. But initial sales will be decent, possibly due to the fact that Best Buy is giving the album away with sales of cell phones this coming week. An insider told me that this could add as much as 200,000 albums to her first-week tally.
“One of the stipulations of the Best Buy and Lady Gaga deal is that Best Buy will count the albums they give away as actual sales. In turn, this will help Lady Gaga on Billboard’s charts. This is pure public manipulation, but good marketing if she isn’t called on it,” I am told.
Lady Gaga doesn’t have to worry about her songs topping the charts either. Starting next week, Starbucks will be giving away Lady Gaga singles for free. Do you think this is chart manipulation or just good marketing?

Of course she is talented, only haters at this point deny this blatant fact. But that doesn’t mean she can’t risk being overexposed, and much as I love her, even I feel that it would be nice if she could take a step back and retreat from the public eye after being in it for three consecutive years. Give people a chance to miss her. And there’s also the fact that she may burn herself out if she doesn’t learn how to relax every once in a while. She just finished what could possibly one of the longest tours ever, and she will soon embark on a new one. I’ve seen some of her Monster Ball concerts on YouTube, and in quite a few of them she appears to be very tired. So it worries me that she’s gonna go on another large scale tour so soon after this one. I really respect her work ethic, but I don’t want her push herself beyond her limits.
