New Song: R. Kelly & Kelly Rowland – ‘Motivation (Remix)’

Published: Friday 27th May 2011 by Sam

It was only a matter of time. With Kelly Rowland‘s ‘Motivation’ now a bonafide hit on the R&B chart, it was only natural for the King of R&B to bless the cut with a remix.

Take a listen to R. Kelly’s new remix of the Rico Love penned song below. HIs raunchy version joins the ever growing list of remixes, which has seen the likes of Da Brat, the Dream, and Jerimih take a stab at the track.

  10. Keith May 27, 2011

Now, again…why isn’t anyone telling R.Kelly that he is TOO OLD to sing lyrics like this? Oh, the hypocrisy of black music fans…As he can be a pretty decent songwriter, he should be embarrassed to pen this stuff.

  11. Heat May 27, 2011

To all the haters, even Rico Love who penned this track tweeted that nobody can fuxs with R. Kelly after hearing the remIx. So if u don’t like jump out a 2nd floor window

  12. _ITSTT_ May 27, 2011

  19. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare May 27, 2011

@ Keith,”Now, again…why isn’t anyone telling R.Kelly that he is TOO OLD to sing lyrics like this?As he can be a pretty decent songwriter, he should be embarrassed to pen this stuff.”

    Say.It.Again. Please!

Just when I thought that R. Kelly left this sort of foolishness behind when he released “Love Letter,” he degenerates.

  20. fake May 27, 2011

I love it been waiting 4 this

  21. MSBLACKROSE May 27, 2011

i dont really like these remixes too much….

  22. VA STAND UP!! May 27, 2011

I just KNEW he was gonna get on the remix! I freaking knew it! After all he is the King of freaky s***! ‘Work that pole??’ Really Kells? Ugh!

It’s OK. It’s for damn sure better than The Dream’s remix, I’m not too found of Jeremih’s remix either. Honestly I think the origianl is the best. Kelly did a good job on her own. She earned her No. 1 by herself.

  23. NikkiIsChillin May 27, 2011

Yet another remix just proves that Ms. Kelly is the bizness right now. Motivation is # 1!!!

  24. Part Of The Blanco Family May 27, 2011

Thanks to Nicki Minaj, legends are now considered old and they cant do music anymore… this is was okay

  25. Koscheck May 27, 2011

    r kelly doesn’t think he is getting old..but im here to tell him..take a seat…to the left..lol..

Rkelly is still selling more than most of these dudes out there…..the sound that these dudes use today, HE CREATED….so gtfo with that ish

  27. Chilestop May 27, 2011

How are you buffoons going to say he’s “too old” for this but stan for flop b****** that wear leotards and still grind on stage at 40+ years old? GTFOH! I’m not here for the double standards.

The KING of R&B is still selling and slaying all your favorite singers at 44 years old. Billboard’s most successful R&B artist of the last 25 years. WHO else?! Nobody.

    @BitchIcantevenspellwelfare

TRANet stan sit DOWNE! The only thing appalling is TRANet’s botch nose job.

  28. jesse lopez May 27, 2011

now I have the most respect for r.kelly and he is the king or R&B but all this crapola he been puting out is slowly letting the crown fall right off of his head!he need to stop singing about all this damn s** at 50 years old and make something meaniful like “i believe i can fly” ,”i wish.” or “a womans worth”, i just hate his latest stuff like what the hell man!?

  29. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare May 27, 2011

@CHILESTOP, there is absolutely nothing that you can say about the Legendary and Iconic Janet Jackson that can upset me–nothing. You know why, because she’s Legendary and Iconic.

    I like R. Kelly-a lot actually, but he.sounds.horrendous.on.this.song–period. & that writing is ridiculous–period.

    *plays original*

  30. DeShaun May 28, 2011

Lmao at the haters in herrr! This dude the king of R&B show some respect or if u aint like it go listen to some lady gaga or the other wack s*** music yall listen too. Yall stay the hell mad, keep lookin for anythin Kellz related on the internet so u can hate yall need 2 get a life. Rico Love made the s*** for kelly rowland and even he tweeted that no1 is f***** with kellz and that he killed the remix. KELLZ IS YALL MOTIVATION TO HATE SO KEEP IT COMINNN YA HEA ME

  31. NaQu May 28, 2011

Love it. This reminds me of 90s music…but when music was tolerable, or at least more tolerable than all this electro f**/pop.

  32. Chilestop May 28, 2011

    @BitchIcantevenspellwelfare

I’m not here for TRANet stans proclaiming that has-been is “Legendary” or “Iconic”. LMAO! Nothing TRANet has done in the 00’s is “Legendary” or “Ironic”. Her iconic work was back in the 80’s and early 90’s. That is all and you will remained bothered. Now Michael Jackson is iconic and legendary.

The KING of R&B never sounds “horrendous”. The nerve of this coming from someone that stans for a whispering Minne Mouse that is hardly audible to human ears. GORL BYE!

and FAIL at KING’S writing ever being “horrendous”. When Billboard listed the KING as the 10th most successful and best songwriter from 2000 to present day.

    *files nails*

  33. Chilestop May 28, 2011

    Remain*

    ____________

and I guarantee the clowns claiming this is “s***” are the same f**** that thinks Gaga’s “Judas” and Beyonce’s “Run the World” is hott. GTFOH! you gimmick worshiping flops!

  34. RIHANNA /BEYONCE STAN May 28, 2011

The next time I will follow my mind go the next post.
Ms. Kelly did not need his help

  35. trucie May 28, 2011

i prefer Jerimih’s version. His voice and verse compliments the song more.

  36. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare May 28, 2011

@CHILESTOP, as I stated previously, “I like R. Kelly-a lot actually,” but if you think THIS is good writing, well, that says a lot about you and not me. You should read more.

And, again, there is nothing that you can say to me about Janet that can get me “bothered,” (I am not one of those types of fans) her Legendary and Iconic status is already solidified.

*plays Just LIke That- an actual good R. Kelly song*

  37. chilestop May 28, 2011

    @BitchIcantevenspellwelfare

I never said it was “good” writing. You should know that R. Kelly never writes his music. He always sings the lyrics off the top of his head. Especially, on these remixes. It’s never done seriously. I just disagree at this being “horrendous” writing. BTW, at least he writes his own music unlike…

Once again, I’m not here for stans dubbing has-beens “Legendary” or “Iconic”. R. Kelly is a legend, not TRANet and her dated Rhythm Nation moves.

LEGENDS can still churn out classics in 2011.
LEGENDS can overcome scandals and STILL be successful in 2011.

    Deal with it.

  38. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare May 28, 2011

@CHILESTOP, first of all it’s quite interesting to me that you are talking a lot about Janet when what i said about R. Kelly has.absolutely.nothing.to.with her.

My original comment centered on his contribution to Kelly Rowland’s great song “Motivation”. I don’t like it. You do. Fine. Kelly loves it–even better.

What STANS (not me, you) tend to do is bring other artists into conversations in order to lift up the artist who they feel have been slighted. I like R. Kelly’s music; not his contribution to this song. This is very simple stuff here.

Now, the fact that I too happen to be a Janet fan (in your STAN universe something that is apparently antithetical), you became pressed. Strange.

To point out another of your inaccuracies, Janet has written her own music for years. But again, this has nothing to do with her.

If you don’t believe that Janet is Legendary or Iconic, that’s simply your opinion. Cool. For me, and MILLIONS of others, her record speaks otherwise. & for you to bring Michael Jackson into this conversation, it proves my point further. Again, I am totally unmoved. i love Michael. i love PRINCE more.

Do that STAN stuff with someone else. it doesn’t work with me.

    Done.

  39. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare May 28, 2011

@CHILESTOP, just so you won’t look so foolish in the future, Legends and Icons are not created by “hits.”

The brilliant Phyllis Hyman, who started her career in 1977 but didn’t receive her first #1 album until 1991, is a Legend.

Legendary and Iconic status is not created by chart positions.

  40. chilestop May 28, 2011

    @BitchIcantevenspellwelfare

I brought up an artist you’re representing in your avi. I could really careless how you feel about it. I just find it hypocritical that you would say things such as “R. Kelly is too old for this” when you’re representing an artist that is not only older but also has become vagular in both music (listen to “Discipline”) and performances (dry humping audience members on stage in a thong). You also mentioned that R. Kelly sounds “horrendous” and the lyrics are “horrendous”. I then brought up someone you’re representing in your avatar.

“Janet has written her own music for years.”

No, you mean her ex-husband Rene ghost wrote for her for years. Jimmy and Terry did, as well.

2nd, I only brought up Michael Jackson as an example of someone that is legendary and iconic.

3rd, you contradicted yourself by saying “her records” speaks for her legendary and iconic status (I disgress!) but turn around and say hits don’t define someone as a legend or icon. FYI, I never stated that hits define a legend or icon. BTW, Phyllis Hyman is a great singer but by no means a legend. Please, look up the definition of a legend and icon. I stated that R. Kelly is a legend because of how he’s still able to remain one of R&B’s most talked about artist AND write memorable classics for himself and others in 2011. The fact that he’s 44 years old, has been through hell and back and still here having people such as yourself discussing him is enough proof of this.

  41. BitchIcantevenspellwelfare May 28, 2011

@CHILESTOP, I have listened to “Discipline” and I do not find it “vagular” [sic], I find it quite sensual, just like I find “Motivation” sensual and not “vulgar,” that is until R. Kelly began talking about “stripper poles.” Being sensual has absolutely nothing to do with age at all. I do think that R. Kelly can definitely write a sensual song but this is not it. In terms of Janet, we can disagree on this point. You read and understand her one way. I, another. Fine.

Oh, so Rene was ghosting writing for Janet. Right. “Ghost writers” do not appear in credits.

When I mentioned Janet’s “records,” this was not to suggest that records are what made her Legendary and Iconic. She is original. She has made an indelible mark on pop music. She has produced progeny, as in many artists who have attempted to reproduce her…etc….this is what contributes to her Legendary and Iconic status first and foremost. The fact that she has sold over 100 records, been nominated for an Academy Award, several #1 songs, worth more than $150 million dollars, etc…are extra: secondary.

Finally, for you to say that Phyllis Hyman is not Legendary speaks volumes. That’s like saying that Anita Baker is not Legendary. I can’t.

  42. Chilestop May 28, 2011

    @BitchIcantevenspellwelfare

LMFAO at “Discipline” being sensual. “Daddy, make me cry” is so soothing. LMFAOOO! Get the f*** out of here! There’s nothing sensual about that ratchet song or anything TRANet has done in the last 7 to 8 years.

Rene doesn’t ghost write for her anymore hence how her lyrical content has turned to complete s***. Her best work was when she was with Rene and you will deal.

LMFAO at “original”. Biting off your brother isn’t original, hun.

DEATH at you comparing Phyllis Hyman to Anita Baker. Please, kill yourself! Anita Baker is legendary. Phyllis isn’t. The f****** end.

Stupid TRANet stan that still bumps shits from the late 80’s and early 90’s. How sad. I bet you can’t even tell me what she has done in recent years that is “legendary” or “iconic”. TRANet is a has-been.

  43. Jayso May 28, 2011
